A while back Heartland Tanning (distributer) received alot of criticism for owning a salon that was part of a franchise. The intial response was that this was a working showroom to show equipment and test equipment etc. If I remember correctly, I believe they purchased from a struggling owner.

Last week in Nashville, Greg Hensen informed me that he no longer has any ownership interests in that salon.

I thanked Greg for making such a decision and thanked him fo being a true friend of salon owners.

I believe he realized it was a bad decision to own a salon. I also believe he did the right thing and should be commended for that action.

So does this change things? Will you still boycott Heartland? Will you give them another chance?

My critique of Heartland:
As for their service: It is the best that I have ever seen in the 7 years that I have been in this business.

As for their equipment: It does not have the flash that other manufactures have (like egroline) but their equipment is top notch. Results that are on par, if not better, than the competition. For those of you who are looking at ergolines (esp the 450 and 600) their Encore (formerly the 164/4) will match the output (using uv meters) of those beds for much less money. Plus, the beds are well made with top quality components that will allow you to easily achieve the stated life on your bulbs.

Just my humble opinion.

What is your's?

If I remember correctly - this salon was undercutting the locals with rediculous tanning and lotion prices..... this would not constitute 'showfloor' or 'testing' in my {CHUNN - knock it off with the Winkies Auto SPAM!!!}eyes.

Like 4 Seasons and their multiple salons they opened in competition with their clients .... I don't believe it is in ANYONE'S best interest for their salon to give their Business (including sales info/ body counts) to anyone that has already shown they are willing to compete (unfairly) against them.

rufus ~ why should anyone take your work or even Greg's for that matter, that he is no longer an owner ..... As a key member of the ITA and a major Distributor - the ownership & later fiasco of this salon was not advertised - it was uncovered. Outted online by the local competition that was getting hurt with the predatory pricing. I don't believe he should be commended for NOT screwing his clients.

Like any bed company - - Quality is only valuable when you can TRUST the company.

I have to agree with Sheila on this one. Since she already said it well, I won't try to say it any better!

When I found out that heartland was doing this I went with 18 brand new Tan America units. My old salon has all heartland units. I believe a lot of people as salon owners are not down with companies like them. A little here and a little there all adds up to lost monies to these manufactures..

something I said from the start don't support the ones who eat with both hands in this business. Maybe they got the message but now they have to prove themselves. I definatly wont jump in for a while they will have to earn my business it again.
