Thanksgiving Black Friday Specials - tanTALK

Where is the turkey icon?????? Santa is missing toooo!!!!! Well the black friday specials what is everyone doing to get those early x-mas sales. I am tired of our industry being the last minute shopping ideas. I am doing a marketing thing like the big retail outlets. First through the door will get this and inside discounts for the first 3 hours. It works for the big guys. What is others doing??????

We are closing the whole weekend. We are in a town filled with outlets. So the traffic will be crazy and I know I will be dead. So we are just closing for those four days. Give all of us a mini vacation. LOL

We will be open but not until later on Friday (noon). We have usually opened at regular time but not had tanners until 11 0r 12. One year we closed on Friday but we had people mad so we will be open 12-7 Friday and regular hours on Sat & Sun. We are putting up Christmas decorations this weekend and getting gift packages set out. I am also doing a giveaway of a small Longaberger basket filled with products. Their name goes in a drawing for every $10 spent from Thanksgiving week until Dec 23. Christmas Eve we close at 2 until noon on Dec 26th.
I like the idea of some kind of a special promo on Thanksgiving Friday.

I always start advertising in Sept...Give'em summer for Christmas!

Those are great ideas. We have been slow on that day also. Will have to be creative and think of something good. I like the 3 hour specials and first in the door.

Chances are everyone is going to be shopping for everyone else on their list. The big stores are going to attract all of the shoppers on Black Friday.

My plan this year is to do up a postcard with bunch of special packages listed on it and hand them out starting Black Friday through Christmas Eve. That way our tanners have something written down that they can give to the people who buy gifts for them. Something like a Christmas List. They can check which special they want and all the person will have to do is bring in the "Wish List Card" and we will be able to wrap it up for them. Makes things easier for non tanners to come in and buy for the tanners in their lives.
