I do not have any expiration dates on any of my packages, except for obviously my unlimited tanning...Do you all put expirations on the tanning session and if so how long?
Thanks...Christina

BB,
WOW! Ours are a year! we didn't have any either until this year. I went through the computer and expired a lot of really old packages (like people who hadn't been here in a l-o-n-g time). Others that were not quite as old, but still over or close to a year, I sent postcards saying they would expire on 'a date' 30 days future. I invited them to come in and see our new equipment and get a free lotion sample to get them started. Some did, some didn't but I felt like we had given them warning. I have considered going to 6 months. I guess whatever you do they get used to.

On my session packages I put a 1 month expiration on 5 sessions, 3 months on 10 sessions...etc. The more they purchase, the farther out the expiration date. Most people opt for unlimited memberships though. It's a better deal in my salon to go that way.

Any session packages expire 90 days after first use. I only extend packages for military personnel if they go in the field or are deployed.

We have one year expiration on our packages. It amazes me how many people will come back 2 years later demand they had tans left. I just let them know that the system automatically purges old tan packages and we have no way of knowing what they have not used before the expiration date.

We only put expiration dates on our unlimited packages. My thoughts are that if you pay for your sessions, you should get to use them. Our clients are very appreciative and keep coming back.

i used to think "if you pay for them, they last until you use them. went to one year expiration policy and making soooooh much more. reason? they purchase smaller packages they know they will use for whatever the occasion they are tanning for ... at a higher per session price of course. the ones that complain aren't good customer anyway. if it takes them longer than a year to use 5 or 10 visits... go somewhere else, thank you.
