I knew I would catch everyone"s attention on this Topic Headline .....

There has been SO much Talk of late of the new Beast that is arriving in ths Industry Franchise Tanning ESP Palm beach .....

Everyone is so suprised on these companies Actions ??????

Give me a break This was the Gameplan from Day 1 Its just know rolling out and More companies to come .....

Its funny this industry we are in ,,,Everyone worries about everyone else Business or lack of it ??????

This is Why Franchise Tanning is going to Control at least 50% of the Market in the 3 years or less .....

The strong Family owned one"s that Have more then 5 Locations will surrive No problem as there Niche has been made and Proven not to mention Most of these Family owned Salons are Paid for and RAN very well .....

Tanning is a Niche market there is No doubt about this Palm beach or any other Big money player that attempts to enter this industry will have Impact NO doubt about it Maybe much more then Most of us even realize or want to admitt too....

However the regional Players who control there Markets Now or have 5 plus locations with Top end beds and Serevice WILL NOT BE AFFECTED AT ALL .....Reasons why You say ??

Locations
The truth of the matter is that Most great locations throughout the country are already Taken by salon operators so therefore Big Franchise Cannot get in Case in point Palm beach is coming to Vegas there First location they chose is a B- TO C + AT best ,,,Reason why All the good spots are Gone there is no where to build at ????

I assuming this goes throughout the country on this Matter Or at least Some of You better Hope so ??????

Are they going to be the Giant killer as so many other boards are now claiming They will be I do not think so at all....

Ten years ago there where 23 or 24 thousand salons in the USA ,,,Now that figure is somehwere between 26 to 27 MAX IF THAT I do not think anyone knows for 100% sure ,However Reality states to me that this Industry Really hasnt Grown all that Much as so many folks really think that it has

DO you realize that Mcdonalds Has more locations wordwide Over 31 thousand then all of inddor tanning in the USA does ....What does that Tell YOU ,,,And this is a Fact.

Indoor Tanning was long Overdue for such few Big players to enter and attempt to control and Price out most Lower end operators and THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN No matter what You might think or are being Told ....

The ANTI-Christ is now showing its Ugly face ....

However is it really going to be as bad as so many of US think ....

I welcome them to my market in Vegas as it needs to be cleaned Out ,,,The will not affect me in ayway as my locations Kill there"s and my beds are Just as good if not better and my pricing from Day one has always been cheaper and Most important WE have Money ......

THe days of the Jerk off salon operators are quickly Coming to an end I cannot wait for this day to arrise.

For some of YOU ,,,,,You had your 15 minutes of Fame is Now over in the next couple of Years, So sad Too bad Thats business ..

AND for the operators Out there that know there Stuff You will thrive and countinue to GROW and get bigger such as myself ....

Um ok I feel pretty confident that even great salons will close because of some of the franchises. Just like Wal-Mart - lower costs, higher volume.

Hi All,
Heres how i feel.The clients that i have come back to me yr after yr.My husband and i treat each and everyone of them like they are gold(to us they are).Yes from time to time one of them will try one of those "new fast food tanning mecca's"as we like to call them but in the end what they really want is just to be treated right.They want someone to truely care about their needs,to be honest with them,give them the best tan for their money and look at them as a person when they walk in the door not a dollar sign!
Thats what keeps'um coming back.I welcome the "big dogg's"because in the end i know they can never give my people what we do Personal Attention!
OK i'll come down off my soapbox for now heeeheee,g-night..

Anyone that can read understands the real who is backing whom.....

The frenzy over supporting vendors that will one day become competitors (even silent men behind the curtain) is nothing new.....

No need to chloroform the kiddies..... I think Doug McNabb has done a great deal of GOOD for this industry in Canada.... His salons (and franchised stores) never give the industry a Black Eye like some of our own favorite vendorators and spam meisters of online do....

Franchises are not what is worriesome.

They will not necessarily stomp out the sh*tshacks of tanning.

They MAY indeed make sh*tshack more prolific.......... by bringing in high priced equipment and DEVALUING services - - - the mid to upper range salons will be harmed....the sh*tshacks will always BE THERE....

BIG BUSINESS does not always = GOOD BUSINESS ....

It is time for our peers within this industry to focus regionally - - - and forget all the old hype of SAVING the INDUSTRY....

Salon Owners need to get their STATES strong and solid and fight Bulls*ht attacks from govenmental agencies---- one proposed law at a time. And use their clients to help!

Forget about your COMPETITON killing you - and think what you MAY be able to accomplish if you WORKED WITH YOUR competition to form a solid environment for your services.....

Hello Keyser,
I am have only been in the business for a short while and some of the things you say may be true. But this is a service driven business and the people that use our salons are educated for the most part. Customers want to be pampered and enjoy there experience. If you try and run people in and out like Blockbuster or McDonalds you may profit a small amount but in the long run you will fall short. Are you going to franchise your stores? what is the name of your stores and do you have a web site I could look at!

who do you think you are. you may think you are safe. you may think you are god. But don't come on here and tell people they are going to go under. you have no right talking to people like that. I bet you I can go into your salon, your all mighty salon, better than any other. And find many faults that can put you under faster than any peace of crap salon that you talk down. Just by your attitude I am telling you, your salon is not customer friendly. And if you talk to your employees like you just talked to us, you will get robbed by them and stuck in the back when your not looking.

You are comparing your industry to a cheap fast food outlet, give us some fair dues please! The cheap and nasty joints ok! I buy that but how about those of us that have great beds, good looking salons and staff with a vested interest in providing service that counts. Can we therefore compare those with the fine dining restaurants? These I may ad are rarely a franchise there are only two that I know of that count in North America. So fast food or fine dinning. Dump salon or we don't give a fiddlers fart compared to a nicely appointed well equiped and knowlegable salon. Which is it? and who wins? (I do)and if you want think like the negative pessamistic moron who is commenting here tough! how did any one who thiks like this every bother getting into a competative buisiness he must wet his pants evert time he hears the word "competion" get used to it or get back on your horse.

But what I do claim is that A whole TON OF SALONS throughtout the country are going to get Hit Hard and Very hard and the one"s that do deserve Goddbye THEY need to go ...

Its time for a cleasning of this industry ......All the wanna bes that think they know something dont knoew Jack and Will be gone shortly that is all I am claiming :}}}}}

IF you have a great store with great beds and great Service And a great location or locations and money in the bank You have no worries IF not SEE YA LATER SUCKER.

DO not Hate on me because so many of YOU Lived high on the Hogg doing nothing but complaining about this and that ,,,,,,,Stand up and raise your hand and take the foul and make Your business better ......
