Just heard that Mist-on is really going after Magic Tan with lawsuits because of their infringing on Mist-on's sunless booth. Sunless Express has given up and stopped manufacturing their machines. It's just a matter of time B4 Dr. Lauglin get's everyone. I wouldn't purchase Magic right now.

Yes Bruce ~

Howie is correct...... he is the FIRST???

Then HE is the one responsible for any DHA health claims....

He really should put this much effort into getting the safety data (and REAL DATA - not spin doctor poopoo) done - - - and let his competitors share the wealth and share the RESPONSIBILITY for the stupid human tricks Sunless Booths will be causing...

BTW ~ CHUNNNNNNN!!!! Wake up! You are letting Bruce into the henhouse and setting a dinner plate for him!!! SHEEEESSSH!

I just heard that Mist-on cut a deal with MagicTan to save both parties a ton of money.

Just thought I would throw some more un-substantiated rumors on the table.

Sheila, I do respect your want to know if DHA can cause harm if used in the manor not originally intended. I also what that answered, but you loose credibility when you make statements the are Intended to make it sound like Sunless Tanning will cause some “as yet unknown harm” to individuals. And when you say things like the tanning industry is in danger, well your posts seem to have an ulterior motive.

I know that is not the case, right? You have said that if they are proven to be safe you will purchase one, is that true?

I do have a vested interest; I am going to purchase one from the company that I think has the best machine for the best price with the best service and customer support.

From what I have garnered from the websites ETS made no money off their sunless express and in only made sense to scrap the project. I read a ton of threads about problems with the unit. I cant find even a handful of people that ever posted that they owned one. They did not even have one in Vegas for us to look at when we attended. (We did buy an Ergo600 love it).

From another post you will see I am down to 3 units. So I make no apologies for that. What I have found as we did with UV tanning beds is there is a ton of BS out there, its like buying a used car sometimes. The mis-information is substantial, and deciphering the true facts takes a lot of reading and surfing on the web.

I do come her to learn, and learn I will.

Mike
Are we having fun yet?

What are the details of the deal? If you know...then share. We have inquiring minds you know.

Mike -
you are claiming I made statements that :

Quote:are Intended to make it sound like Sunless Tanning will cause some “as yet unknown harm” to individuals. And when you say things like the tanning industry is in danger, well your posts seem to have an ulterior motive. .... and you feel I lose credibility in stating my opinion ~

Let me try to be crystal here -

I truly do believe that POOR DECISIONS were made by the 2 companies that brought the spray booth technology to Market....

I truly do believe that they were BANKING on getting away with the PREVIOUS FDA approval & some hoeky Theorectical premise on particle size and hang time in the booth (exposure time for client to be breathing mist).....

I spent exhaustive hours on researching and attempting to research data (that does not exist) for almost a year - - - - I kept the online community (at that time - mostly on Tantoday) fully aware of each step I was taking and the responses I was getting from my inquiries..... nothing underhanded - and no motive to 'shut down sunless tanning' ....

For the most part - the American public are treated like sheep.... they are not given the opportunity to KNOW all the DETAILS because the lab coats feel - - - it is over their heads anyway (or WORSE) quite possibly insuring the continuation of GRANT $$$ by promoting one thing or another.

After getting my *** kicked on every board by the most mercernary of assholes for my concerns on the Long Term Effects of DHA chemicals in the lungs and sinues..... I had finally given up the quest for answers.....

I no longer cared about the possible damage to this industry and no longer cared about Salon Owners taking it up the butt - - since many knew there were questions and prefered to NOT seek the answers.

I truly do not care.

I just hate spam.

And I hate manipulative people hammering on Newbies in an effort to squeeze ching from them.

I have hounded RumpRoaster due to this agressive spam attack on a few boards..... DO I care if his garden hose of brown spray works?

Nope -

I see clearly that for the majority - - there is no issue for safety - cause that would HARM their ching..... That sucks a limp one in my world. And the same majority will BUY cheepshit booths and tweak cheepshit juice and cause more harm than my little quest EVER DID....

The industry is in trouble Mike.

The Anti Tan attacks are starting in September - - - Not the typical May timeframe..... the crap on sin taxes and the embracing of all non UV tanning in my personal opinion will cause irreperatible harm to this industry.

Thank the gods I no longer care ~ Eh?

just a side note ~ ETS is the biggest player in the industry.... they would not walk away from a 60 mill slice of the pie on a simple whim. Out of all the companies out there - - I honestly can say - ETS is the only company I've seen with the legal balls and the will to use em for ANYTHING - - - if they desired it - Doc would be eating thru a tube (figurativly speaking of course )

As far as the SAFETY issues ever beening proven to show no hazzards from DHA inhalation.... and me buying the booth.... from what I have seen {the wordsmithing from a hired spin doctor that made mount St. Helen's seem like it was just a burp).... I don't believe they will be able to convince me of a non-biased, unslanted result ~ the money is not going into the testing ~ it is going into the HYPE.....

Loss of credibility?

I am not worried.

Cause I simply do not care.

Sheila,

From what I have seen nobody ever kicked your butt, you have too much backbone for that to happen.

When HP beds came on the market you had a ton of salons with nothing but standard tanning beds slamming HP tanning. They were only in it for the ching, HP lamps wrinkle the skin faster they said, HP lamps do not produce a natural tan, no b ray is a bad thing they said.

Many have HP today that said those very words.

Change is good; it has always helped our industry. Now don’t attack my example, I know the differences here, still the real question is if the public has the same perception.

If you embrace the future an acquire sunless and replace a bed that is giving you less per sq ft in revenue the scenario is the same more profit for the salon. Yes profit, ching what ever you want to call it, that’s why you open a business and tanning calling sunless names or vice versa is in my opinion the wrong thing to do. On that point I agree with you whole heartily.

I have a theory about this……. many salons that opened with only HP tanning found out after a while, after everybody had tried it once, not everybody liked it. They began to loose business and to stay alive they acquired other tanning beds. To survive they had to offer many choices to the customers. We are Americans and we like choices.

In the future you may very well see some of the sunless only salons that slammed UV tanning eating their words and acquiring tanning beds because they have discovered low and behold they are in the “tanning business” and that means catering to all the people who want a tan not just a small segment of the tanning public.

We aren’t all in it for the ching, but when the cash register rings it puts a smile on all our faces.

yes Mike - - it does a bit more than put a smile on my face ~ there are days I slide right off my chair!

I was eager to get this 'New Technology' as I have a lack of electrical at my current spot .... Am I dissappointed in the industry for their part in allowing this product to get into salons with these 'issues looming'??? yep ~ I am.... but - I am over it.... although rumproaster feels I am attacking him for Sunless - - I am not... I am attacking him for spamming (sunless)

Really - - I have stopped really dissecting the Sunless Issue once I found there was nothing to dissect..... no testing ~ no integrity ~ and really no need to protect salon owners that CHOOSE to do this.... {the client is another story}....

I have to admit - - I was very vocal (surprized??) about the Anti HP / Anti LP wars about 3 years ago..... neither technology needs to poopoo on the other to survive! I HATE BS marketing and DECEPTIVE advertising..... and that did not increase my love for sunless either....

Whatever.... I may evolve one day Mike..... Drag myself from the tarpit .... and actually do EFT memberships and Sunless and herbal supplements for bigger Yaabows ~ ~ the T-Rex of Tanning fights her own extinction!!

Now that would be a freeking story!!
