Too close to summer to open up a salon? - tanTALK

I know sales will be down during summer would it be best to wait until fall?
However, I'm up north, and want to be the first to have a spray tan system in my city, so would it be best to start now?

that is hard to say.......
Look around your area.... could you gather some good business during the summer months?

Do you have enough money to float yourself until season begins again?

You need to feel right about the opening..
Don't listen to what others say...go with your heart on this one..

I will be opening in the next few months as well. Although some see it as a disadvantage, I see it as an advantage. It gives us a few months to get rid of all the kinks, gain some exposure and prepare for the crazy season ahead!

I am trying to sell my salon now. Have been trying since the end of January. I would think this would be the primo time to buy as they can have all the cash that is coming in now for the slow season up ahead.

Anytime is OK to open a salon if you have the money. I think most would say that the tanning season in the north is from the end of February to Labor Day. Also I think most tanners pick out the salon they will tan with in March and April and will stay with them through the season. If this is true and you open in June of 03, it's my guess you won't make any money until March of 04.
