Rep Power: 24 | Becka.. if you have a private question to ask about management or running your salon..that is sensitive to "your business".. post the question in Salon Owners Forum.. this way you can get the advice or information you need..and not share with the open public.. Love, C |

Rep Power: 23 | So now Christine... this was earlier in the day and you stated: if you have a private question to ask about management or running your salon..that is sensitive to "your business".. post the question in Salon Owners Forum.. this way you can get the advice or information you need..and not share with the open public.. This is the same reason why we do not need Manufacturers in the salon owners only forums.. .this way we can discuss these sensitive things regarding products and not have to share them with the whole manufacturer community. Make up your mind??? |

Rep Power: 24 | I believe that manufactures and distributors are on the same page we are Kimmee.. they also are in OUR INDUSTRY.. not seprate from us as owners..but rather a vital link to our success.. They have been with us since conception. Clients need not know our percentages..or arrangements, proceedures, as an industry, they need to get a tan and be taken care of in the best possible way, BY OUR INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS.. What is it you'd like to make my mind up on Kimmee..? I am a very secure professional with a track record that speaks for itself with other professionals along with manufcuers and distribs... I did not just enter this area..I have been with the indoor tanning indusrty since 1987. So I will ask you again.. What is it you'd like me to make my mind up on? We could take this to another area if you'd like. Christine' |

Rep Power: 24 | one more thing Kimmee... you stated that we did not need manufactuers in the Big Dog Forum... yet...Sam James is a manufactuer..Black Sun that is being sold on that site.. What is good for Sam James is not also good for Abate' or California Tan or Designer Skin?? or the other lotions available on there..? Turn that frown upside down.. Looking forward to your reply. C |

Rep Power: 23 | OK Kiddies - - - let's back off before someone gets an eye put out K? *First off - - - I am still "new" to the workings of this particular board . . .am I to understand that you as salon owners invite your clients to this board? *Second . . . the reason that Caltan has it's own company website, its own company meetings to suggest its own companies agendas is to communicate to only those that require the communication - - - the NEED to KNOW group. This is counterproductive to the BigDog Effort to constantly let others manipulate the discontent. . . . Not only is Sam James the BigDog Distrib - - he is a salon owner - - - - if Max or John want to buy my freeking shop to get into the NEED TO KNOW group fine. . . . But it is apparent that nothing is sacred while these personal Agenda are being persued. s |

Rep Power: 24 | Shelia: Let me ask you this.. Do you feel more things get done faster and smoother when everyone works together? What is a debate except the search for the truth..? Why does it have to be manipulation, in regards to who enters the Big Dog Area?? Couldn't more questions be answered? I could be wrong.. I'm just searching for the truth. No matter what I have been through with Max Recone.. (and trust me we have had some real doozies...) I have always been able to discuss the issue in its entirety with him...(which sometimes can dragged on for quite awhile).. but we do resolve the issue...with-out too much blood being spilt.. I also know Frank and John are easy to work with. All I asked in the "private forum" was a simple question.. WHY..couldn't these people come in.. You sent me an e-mail explaining your position on this and I respect your decision as one of the directors of BD.. I do not respect the fact you have someone on your board who would demand I make up my mind.. and not explain herself. My mind is made up regarding my position. I would like to see everyone work together. It is nice that we in this industry can agree to disagree. No eye poking out here..nor do I kick box.. I am a lover not a fighter.. I am trying to figure out how we can get everyone working together and in the same direction... C _________________ Christine' Been along time since I rock and rolled. Rep Power: 23 | My thought was just this, yes regular people come and chat in this site and learn a lot. I am not sure I care to have my customers in the lamp section, or the for sell section, or management. I do think a spot for the customers is a good idea, education them on lotion etc, becka |

Rep Power: 23 | Christine - - i missed this thread - I am sorry . . . I was not ignoring you! Becka - - as to educating a client on lotions, I believe that is the job of their salon professionals . . . or they can read the websites of all the Lotions Companies and gather facts there . . . . But in my honest opinion - - this board and others like it should remain the domain of the Tanning pros ~ not clients, not basement tanners, not the clincally insane . . . . I have stopped posting in any area here now (unless I have too) because of that belief. Christine~ there are times when more hands help the work go faster . . . . And times when too many cooks fu** up the broth . . . . If I need Max's advice - I go to him . . . I can also research online or go to my distributor if I cannot find the information I need. I am so for . . . .unity in the community! Despite what my Favorite Goo god may say, it is just as ridiculous to think I would advocate a battle with any MFG after spending over 2 months of spreading the words of Unity gives us Strength as a group, as it was ridiculous for us to believe his Salon Finder segment on his web site was anything other than an honest error. ahhhhh there is so much that needs to be accomplished . . . . we historically have gotten bogged down with battles of Egos, Personalities, Private Agenda etc. . . . if we are to change the tide Christine - we are going to need your help. We are going to need the help of the MFGs too. But at this point in time - - that help from the MFGS would be to not interfere with our renovations and allow this puppy to get up and running - - and allow the salon owners the respect to function in their own groups atleast in SOME areas. going home now love - - - - if I can find my g****** car keys!!! Rep Power: 23 | I also think it should be pros. I agree that the salon should educate the tanner on lotion, eyes etc. I can see tantalk being a great place for tanners to come and look around. I just think we have to many open places for them to look around at. AS someone said post what you don't want read in the salon owner only, then some one comes along and says hey, this needs to be in management and moves it. then it is no longer private. Not wanting to start a little war, just wondered if salon management, was a provate place for me the salon owner. same with the rest If my customers are at this site do they really need to go into the l amp forum? Maybe running your salon, advertising it, lamping it, extra income, traning your salon emps, should be salon only and you make a new forum, for customers to ask salon owners. Call it tantalk salon. becka |

Rep Power: 23 | Becka, for the most part I agree. I don't mind non-industry folks reading as much as I mind a thread growing 18 miles long with irrelevant comments. Not trying to sound critical, but I don't have time to read through some of this stuff when it becomes no longer helpful to me, as a salon owner/manager/employee. The most logical cure would be to make some forums off limits and/or create a consumer forum where posts could be moved to. There is a place for consumers, owner/employees, and manufacturers in this industry but for the sake of free-flowing discussions, they don't all belong in the same pot, so to speak. |
