Rep Power: 23 | We had a customer come in and tell us that a Darque Tan caught on fire. Supposedly, a customer was tanning and she noticed that the bed seemed much hotter than normal. Out of morid curiousity, I had to go check it out. They are not even close to us, so they are not competition for me. Anyway, there were construction workers everywhere and large signs stating they were closed due to a fire and would be reopening soon. Anyone else hear anything? |

Rep Power: 24 | It must have been one of those cheap home tanning beds that over heated and caught fire. They are poorly built and wired. I have been told by a service man the wiring in them is poorly designed and caused over heating and melt down, he see it all the time, it most most common repair. |

Rep Power: 23 | Mike - The one that caught on fire was here in TX. I actually drove in the parking lot and saw the signs, etc. I was just wondering if anyone had heard exactly what happened. I pray that no one was tanning when this happened and that no one was hurt. |

Rep Power: 0 | My salon is not to far from the DarqueTan you are refering to. A customer of mine made me aware of what happened. I drove by also and they are suppose to be re-opening the first part of May. From what I have been told there was someone in the bed tanning when the bed caught on fire - she apparently got out with out getting hurt - thank god. I heard the fire was caused by a bad electrical connection. They really aren't close enough to be my competition but I have had a few of there customers coming in since they have been closed. |
