Alright I have been having this problem off an on, I go tanning and then my heels are itching so bad, I don't know if there burnt or what. One of my customers came in the other day and asked me too why her heels where itching. Does this happen to anyone else and what do you do to prevent it from happening again???

I had this same problem when I used tanning beds.
Your heels are drying out from too much heat.
Coat them with moisturizer before and after tanning, and after you shower, make sure you put it on the bottoms of your feet as well as the sides and top.
If you scrubbed your heels with a stone to get the dead skin off don't tan on the same day.

I never heard of that but quite interesting.
Don't many people have dry heel conditions normally? seems to be a constant for me even with the regular pumice stone routines, and lotions, ps* don't forget the cotton socks
bedtime only please!

the soles of your feet do not have melanin and can not tan, you should not expose the bottem of you feet to high levels of uv rays.

I've noticed this more lately due to increased humidity here in the South. I now moisturize the heels first thing in the morning and again when I get home. At night I coat them with vaseline and sleep with cotton socks on. I use a pumice stone once a week.

HI Tangirl,
I usually pumice every nite, don't know if this is a bad thing or not, but if I do the socks each nite with a foot lotion like "Tootsies Aromasentials" with Camomile & Mint; or a cocobutter product I can keep up with them looking pretty good, but the regimine can never end,
