Rep Power: 23 | ok, whats the deal? it is such a love hate reltionship with tingle. I recieved some sample from ( ok dont yell at me australian gold ) some had tingle some didnt, so gave them to my customers, explained each one to them. Well one took the fire and came out yelling. She was joking of course but said she would never buy it because it was burning her. I told her to go home immediatly and shower. So why are some tingles, gentle then some are more of a skin irritant?[ This Message was edited by: key west tanning on 2002-03-20 16:30 ] |

Rep Power: 23 | Make sure they take the coldest shower possible, tingles are heat activated!! There are, of course, different heat levels but also consider sensitivity. I can use the hottest but my daughter dabbles in the mildest because her skin is too sensitive. Never give 1st time tinglers a really hot lotion! I come across customers that have hit a plateau and won't try tingle because of a bad experience in the past. |

Rep Power: 24 | I usually advise clients not to shower for the very reason that the tingle can be rehydrated. They should let the tingle cool naturally and avoid showering for about four hours. I don't like tingles either but find that when I do occasionally use one, it's best to let it cool naturally. |

Rep Power: 28 | YES, try to avoid the shower for a few hours. I learn by doing this myself. The first time I used a very hot lotion, I went straight to the rest room and put cold water on me and OUCH it got worse. I will use the JA body mist if I am tingling to much and it helps cool it a bit. (I normally don't get to much tingle, but on occasion a new or diff. lotion will react on me). Becka, Love your Sun |

Rep Power: 23 | So it is reactivated by any temperature water? Thanks for the info! I always wait to shower after tanning anyway, but once I stuck my feet in the hot tub forgetting I had used a tingle earlier. Yowza, I ran all the way home.... |

Rep Power: 25 | I have also found that using a moisturizer after tanning with a tingle lotion helps it stop tingling quicker. |

Rep Power: 23 | Keep a bottle of Glimra Sun Soothe on hand for those who try tingles and might have a reaction. This way your customers look at you like a responsible salon owner, interested in their best interest. I had a customer try a new tingle product and she had a reaction. Gave her the bottle of Glimra Sun Soothe and sent her to the bathroom to apply it. She said it immediately stopped the reaction and thanked me for caring so. This also elevates any concerns for once they leave your salon. |
