Rep Power: 23 tangirl will become famous soon enough
Yesterday afternoon I received an e-mail from Dave at Kava Kava. He was thanking me for the comments I made about his products. I returned his e-mail and asked about his company's policy on diversion.

Here is Dave's response:

Diversion . . . . 1. I am the only person in this office that has any knowledge of sales to distributors...2. I have done some research to find that last season we had 31 tubes and 98 packets sold on the internet last year ... I wish it was zero, but I am very happy that it is in the "under control stage," when you consider the over 287,000 tubes and over 100,000 packets sold around the world.

Last year in Nashville, Chicago and Vegas we gave a controlled amount of free product to every salon that came to our booth. This year at Nashville, we only gave packets and the odd tube of Kava Kava and our moisturizer Wett.

I have enough time on my hands to catch any internet sales that are abusing our company policy on price discounting. I have established a very strong distribution network. I will try and get to the person that is selling our new stuff to groups like tanforless.com and lotionbarn.com. Let me know if you find out any other places.

First, I want to thank Dave for visiting the boards and understanding that there is a large number of internet savy salon owners out there. Second, I want to thank Dave for taking the time to talk to me about Kava Kava's diversion policy. I personally requested his permission to reprint his comments, to which he said yes. I hope that everyone will take the time to welcome Dave to the boards and I hope that he decides to join in the discussions from time to time.

Welcome aboard Dave. I would say to act like you are going to place an order and maybe then you can get some info as to how to contact someone there. Other than that, I would say to just pay them a visit.
