Removal of IP view - tanTALK

A lot of people were complaining that could not post because IPs were being shown in plain site. To fix this we have removed the public display of IPs, but they are still logged and accessable to administrators. Hopefully this will clear some issues.

What would it matter if the IP was showing? Do these people have something to hide?

I think it's more of a privacy issue, personally I was never thrilled with me IP being visible to all, and I have nothing to hide I'll even tell you my bra size if you want..

We have people from certain companies that want to post but with their IP visible they are afraid that their employers will track it back to them!

It was mostly because if IPs are showing people can tell if the poster originates from a company or location, and certain companies do not permit their employees to post.

Ok. It just makes it sound like the instigators wanted their address hidden so that no one could track them.
