Cocoa Butter without alcohol??

I read that some of you use Cocoa Butter as a post moisturizer to extend the airbrush tan however even by doing a google search i can not find ANY that do not contain alcohol. I thought alcohol should be avoided. I found a Shea Butter one without alcohol but thought Cocoa Butter would be better.

I have used Southseas moisturizer ( not a big fan of the smell) Tangelic ( Very expensive and not sure if I am pleased) I am still sampling some other so I can sell to clients but for me personally I like a vanilla/cocoa smelling product. So I was curious if anyone had any suggestions?

I just purchased a Mystic Tan blue box for my salon. It was already disassembled when I picked it up so I am unfamiliar with the wiring/tubing set up. I have already built the unit in my salon, but am unsure with some of the tubing and wiring. If anyone has any pointers, please help!

Is this really necessary? or do they just want to sell me more bottles?

Hello everyone,
I have been reading this forum for a few months and just recently signed up as a member. I have a Maximist system and have bought several different solutions including *training spray*. I started out spraying with water on cardboard. I tried to spray my legs and it was harder to spray myself then I thought it would be. I have searched high and low for spraying technique videos. The company I bought my system with did not have any training material (Tampa Bay Tan). I love the system as it is lightweight and the Pro Gun is very easy to operate. I would appreciate any help via pm or on the thread on where to see some training videos. I live in North Carolina and it seems no training courses are in my area. I have enjoyed reading all the posts in the Sunless catagory. Hubby has volunteered to be my test model. I know practice is the key to getting good. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can give!!!

Hi!

I am in the process of perfecting my sunless spray techniques. I believe I have the basics down , but I am looking for consistency and total perfection for ALL MY CLIENTS EVERY TIME.

I am looking for some hands-on training, so I can see the work of a professional and get some tips for achieving a flawless tan every time for all my clients.

Currently, I am using a Maximist along with Sjolie solution. Is anybody offering any training?

Thanks a lot

basic spray tan booth with exhaust

We manually airbrush spray tan solution on our customers. Can anyone recommend a spray tanning booth or paint booth for $1000 or less that does a good job of exhausting the solution into some close collection system (e.g., a trough or bottle or pan) rather than trying to exhaust the solution a long distance to an outside vent? As you know, when tanning solution is vented it doesn't go far before it condenses and accumulates.

I'd like to find a booth that gives a customer a little room to move, will prevent the tanning spray from drifting all over the spa, and will exhaust the spray from side vents or side and top vents so that the customer and therapist don't have to breathe in too much of the tanning spray.

I've seen the Norvell booth and it looks great, but costs around $2K. I wonder if there are similar products for less money.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Everyone, I am new to the Spray Tan, but I have been an Esthetician for 7yrs, out of those 7yrs I won Best Esthetician for 4yrs in Santa Cruz County, Ca. Said that because I want you to know I love what I do and now I am very excited to add spray tan to my menu. BUT, I have been dealing with F.T. and I have found and feel that there work ethics and professional service is somewhat to be desired. They accused me of trying to go around their 3rd party rules, in which you have to pay them $1200 dollars for them to come out and spend 3 or 4hrs and certify you, proving that you know how to spray up & down! lol! We all know its not rocket science. I had talked to them about coming out and doing the training right away, then I met someone who was certified and could help me out in the beginning and then later maybe a couple of months I was going to have them come out, asking if they could do more of a contouring and shading training, feeling that would be worth more of the money. People buy used equipment all the time and I don't know anyone else demand you pay them money too for the right to buy their solutions? Before becoming an Esthetician I worked for a manufacturer and I was a Western Regional Manager, so in short words, I know the business inside and out! I understand FT and where there coming from on the 3rd party issue, but they handle it very poorly. I received a letter from Krissy one of their reps. It was one of the rudest and unprofessional (email at that, couldn't even pick up the phone and make a personal call) assuming the worst of a brand new customer. Like I told them, I have watched several vendors get greedy, thinking their product is the best and no one can ever hold a candle to them, and quite frankly, those are the ones who's candle's got BLOWN OUT! I know FT has great EXPENSIVE solutions, their equipment seems nice but AGAIN ridiculously EXPENSIVE. One person noted here on TT that you could reproduce the same equipment for about $400 and only and screw driver and wire clippers! So when are people going to stand up against these guys and demand some fair pricing and respect for their customers?? So with all that said.....I have been working with several other vendors. I know everyone has their fav but what ones last the longest and wear the best? I am in N. CA so it does not get to muggy or hot, sometimes, but not very often. AND what is the BEST Exfolient? Is there anything that I could incorporate as in a body scrub before their spray tan? I know of some, but I think you guys are the experts and I would appreciate any and all feedback!
Hope I did this right! Never posted anything before! Probably shows!

Organic Solutions?

Hello Spray Tan Community!

I've been a spray tan artist for the last 4 years. 3 years ago when I decided to start my own mobile business I looked into organic solutions, but there didn't seem to be much demand. I'm based in Los Angeles, so naturally now using organic solution is necessary in order to compete. I've been using an organic private label solution that a local spa produces, but it doesn't get as dark or as much of a rich brown color as my regular non-organic solution does. So I'm hoping any of you might have some recommendations of organic solutions? or reviews? So far I've ordered samples from:
Sjolie
Vani-T

I was also looking at Biddiscombe's site, and they seem to have the most accredited certified organic solution (but no sample sizes). What are your experiences with them?
Any other suggestions or thoughts would really help. Just from the research I've done thus far it seems very easy for these companies to claim to be organic, but because spray tan solution is a cosmetic there really aren't any laws to prevent them from making false claims.
Is it possible that there is a certified organic product out there that ALSO provides a great tan?

Thanks!

SO, I'm opening a spray tan studio within 2 miles of 2 tanning salons. I keep juggling with my thoughts and thought I'd reach out to you all. I'm located directly next to a HUGE high school, there are at least 5 middle-class subdivisions within a 5 mile radius. The area is steadily growing with shopping plazas and more subdivisions. I'm in the military and know that the quality of the service you provide, ethics, as well as customer service are key to any business and I have extensive experience in all. Why the location? The rent is great, it's close to my home and my military job, so I can be there and not be there comfortably. Has anyone ever done anything like this? Is this an insane move? What do you think?
