Re: Lamp type question

so... if i understand this right... a 140 in a 59 will be the same as a spectralarium vho/r+ as a 160 in a 73 is the same as the spectralarium vho/r+.
to me the facials are different story why would i include them in as a lamp equivalent in purchasing a lamp?
I do understand the theory on the wattage and if wattage was all i was looking at that would be completely understandable.
If i go to buy facials I dont have to inculde the body lamps of the bed to get somethhing compatable.
uummm,,,okay let me rephrase,,,,, if a bed is supposed to have vho's in it then why put a ho?
I really need to understand this beings how I am getting ready to put these lamps in this bed and I am not sure I have the correct ones.
this bed takes 21 spectralarium vho/r+ on the bottom and 30 of the same on the top.
It also has 8 facial lamps but not worried about those right now.

Re: Lamp type question

this might help peeps understand what/where i'm coming from. I have had the spectralariums in this bed before and LOVED it!
Needed new lamps so I let my disty get me some new ones and they ordered for me the midday suns. well I get them in there but they do not seem so be quite as good as the original lamp that should be in there. I cannot get the original lamp anymore so now i am wanting something as close to it as i can get.
ahhh,,,, but after looking back, because i did not knw any better the lamps that my disty ordered for me were only the midday sun ho's. could that be why i did n't like the midday sun's as well maybe they were not the correct midday sun?
I really want to make sure this is correct and will be opening the box soon to get these in the bed.
I have been closed for a week due to moving to a new location and I want my baby rockin again like it used to. this is my favorite out of everthing and if i can't tan in it i won't tan.

Re: Lamp type question

Refer to my previous post.

This could be the problem.

HO refers to 100w, 80w, 120w (depending on length)
HOR refers to 100w, 80w, 120w Relfector (depending on length)
VHO refers to 160w, 140w, 180w (depending on length)
VHOR refers to 160w, 140w, 180w Refelctor (depending on length)

ps 71", 72" and 73" are all considered 71" in my examples.

Re: Lamp type question

k, so as long as it's got enough power behind it a shorter lamp that is supposed to be 140w will actually have an output of 160w.
I did not realize that lamps could output more than stated on them because they may have a shorter length.

Re: Lamp type question

I had always just figured that the maximum output would be what was on the lable or as shown on the lamp. I did not know that a lamp could do more. Thanks for the info.

Re: Lamp type question

The output is not listed on the lamp. The "power" that the lamp is rated for is. For example a 140w lamp is designed to be powered at 140w. Output is a combination of the "power" ot the lamp, the power that it is actually driven at, phosphor content and physical characteristics like built in reflectors.
