Question Need help with choosing the right bulbs

I have a Sunbrozer tanning bed. Right now, I have F71T12/BL/BP/65 Midday sun bulbs. I am ready to purchase new bulbs. I have heard I cant buy just any bulb because of the wattage. That it would burn up my ballast. I want a strong bulb but dont want to damage my bed. Can any one with a little bit more knowledge help me choose a good bulb? Thanks for your help.

You can install any F-71 100 watt lamp in there. Pick one based on how much UVB you want and the max time you want to go.

Re: Need help with choosing the right bulbs

sad thing is that bed probably has better choises in lamps than most of Ergolines stuff.

Re: Need help with choosing the right bulbs

lamps aren't going to burn out your ballast. All depends on what you are looking for in a tan and what bed you have, how man lamps etc. What is a Sunbrozer?

Re: Need help with choosing the right bulbs

A sunbronzer is the name on the side of the tanning bed. I want to strongest bulb I can get. I am very limited on time and want to get in and out. Any suggestions on the strongest, best color in a 100 watt bulb? and where to get them from? Thanks for all of your help. Nicole

Re: Need help with choosing the right bulbs

why not try supporting your local, professional tanning salon -- preferably, one that has a High Pressure bed if you are looking for quick tan times with maximum results.

PS: LAMPS go in tanning beds -- Bulbs produce tulips.

Re: Need help with choosing the right bulbs

It depends on what the original bulb was, but you can probably upgrade to a Light Sources Beach Sun.

Re: Need help with choosing the right bulbs

If you want more information, contact me at work and I can explain the differences in a large variety of lamps and I can also help you get what you are looking for . They won't blow up your ballast or your bed. How's that??? Kris (978) 249 6474

Re: Need help with choosing the right bulbs

The best 100 Watt lamp in terms of strength vary depending on what you need. You can go with cosmedicos 100 W VLR TT lamp (@$14/lamp). It has a higher UVB output. It would be great for more immediate color, but does cause more reddening, so if you're operating a 15 minute bed, it might be too hott. You'll find people that normally go in for 15 minutes are only going in for 10-12 minutes because of the intense UVB output.

You could also try the cosmedico 100 V VLR 9k90 lamp ($16/lamp). The benefit is that it is a four phosphur blend so the lamp life is up to 1,000 hours instead of 600. However, for an entry level bed, do you want to offer a lamp with such a high UVA output (more bronzing power). Better off saving that for your higher levels.

All this is based on a 15 minute bed.
