Re: Magic 636 vs Tan America L33

OK so if they want 5k more for the magic would you buy the magic? it would help if bronzedjason gave us more to work with in order to help him with a decision. i'm not sure i would go for the magic if it's 5k more.

oops i see he said the same price range, in that case the magic is probably the better deal in this situation.

It would seem that the Magic would be the one that you have to be careful with but it is the Matrix. Why is that?
Just a guess but I'll bet the redness is from infrared and has nothing to do with UVB. Maybe my buddy the Sundoctor or John could chime in.

Re: Magic 636 vs Tan America L33

I am not talking about redness. I am talking about burning them if you start them too high on a Matrix.

Infrared light or radiation can cause burning of the skin and eyes. If you have ever arc welded without covering your skin (welders flash) you will get a **** of a painful burn. Infrared causes this painful response. Tanning beds give off infrared as well. So your skin can get "red" or your eyes can get retinal burns from infrared radiation.

That is what I don't understand about the Matrix. Everyone says that the Matrix is around 1.7% uvb but that it is a higher uvb bed. My friend tells me that he can't out a new tanner in for 9 or 10 minutes their first tan because he will burn them. The Magic has 1.6% uvb with mug6 glass but I can put all but the very fairest in for 9 or 10 minutes and I have never burned someone.
Also forget the uvb% nonsense. It makes no sense and was and is used more for marketing than science. The Te time to 4 meds is what you are looking for.

Re: Magic 636 vs Tan America L33

The worst burns I've ever experienced were from steam. Talk about scars to nuture. :)

Re: Magic 636 vs Tan America L33

Okay, so the price difference is about 2 grand. The magic is cheaper but after frieght and install it ends up being a lot closer in price to the matrix.

thanks everyone for the input.
