What would you do?
Ok. I am moving and remodeling some rooms.
I have a few options. I am pretty sure I know what route I am going to take with this, but thought I would put it out there. I would like to get an HP bed or something really nice. Three rooms are candidates for remodeling. The first room right now is 7' 8" deep and 9' wide. This room can be vented (drop ceiling) and is right at the rear exit/entrance so when the door is open lots of people will see it. But I am not sure it will be a large enough room for an HP bed. A closet is next to this room and could be removed to expand the width of the room 3 more feet if needed but that closet also accommodates some plumbing at floor level. Two other rooms are located at the back of the salon, rather hidden. Originally I planned to knock out the wall between them to make them one room for an HP bed. If I do so the dimensions will be 9' deep and 13' wide. That should be plenty of room for any bed, but venting will be tricky since this area has a dry-wall ceiling, but its doable of course. And its a low-traffic area, it will not be on "display". What would you do? If the first room is big enough and the bed will be on display and I wont loose a room. No matter what, the salon is gaining one or two rooms so I wont actually reduce capacity.

Re: What would you do?
do everything possible to put it on display, if your looking at this new unit as a primary money maker, treat it as one. If it's something to sweep under carpet, then treat it like that and put it back in closet...lol

Re: What would you do?
hehe... ya... I am pretty sure the first room will get it, it makes sense. I am just worried about the size of the room more than anything.
Anoter plus of that room is that it can have its own dedicated AC unit. There is a roof-mount 7 ton above it, its never used since the 20 ton does the building fine. I could pipe it to work with the HP.

Re: What would you do?
I know I'm new here, but per the manufacturer's guidelines, you could easily fit the Magic 636 in the first room without modification...also their King and sunsport platinum 318. They suggest an 8' X 7" room. I'm working with space restrictions so I'm also looking closely at sizes.

Re: What would you do?
Wow, thats sounds small. The SunStars we have ask for 10 by 9' rooms. Maybe its because HP beds need/have exhaust systems.

Re: What would you do?
Just pulled the specs today and I'm looking at them now. I was also surprised...pleasantly because it fits my situation. The Matrix glammy would also fit your area...don't know the pricing on that, yet...almost afraid to ask!

Re: What would you do?
Well given the salons in the area, a full HP would even be overkill for me. HP is just not a known type of bed around here.
But I still want a full or half HP. Something people can see and WANT to try. Problem: Wont be able to get very much per session. A local salon has a partial HP and they charge $40 a session, since they opened they have sold only one session. If I sell per-session I am thinking $15, maybe $20. Hence the reason a full fledge HP may be too much for me. But if I can get a good price on a used one, or a good lease, I will get what I can get!

Re: What would you do?
What about just HP facials? Or get a nice, used HP, sell it for $15 and blow the competition out of the water! This is all theory for me because I am still a week and a half away from opening my doors. The half HPs are really gaining speed in our area.

Re: What would you do?
All of my beds already have HP facials, well except the stand-ups. In all likely used will be the path I will go. I repair all my own beds so any work it would need is not a big deal to me at all, I actually enjoy refurbishing beds and such.
Really I did not plan on going HP at all, just a nice 15 or 12 minute bed. But then I realized I want to step things up a notch and an HP bed can really add to the value of a salon and, f advertised right, a new type of clientele.
