Re: lamp/bulb mix??

For face tanner I really had decent luck with the Phillips lamps. The BlueSoil are not bad, but now that I have ben tanning in my beds more than a stand-up I can see they are only "ok".

For our SunStars a we always went with Velocity (bench), Velocity Plus (canopy), and with the Stand-ups we used Bronzing Sun Plus - all from Wolff.

Now with the Solaris there are "extra" lamps packed into the upper. I can not recall if we had used the same form top and bottom, the bed is gone. But one thing is for sure, get the best facial lamps you can get. If you look at it, the SunStar and the Solaris call for the same facial lamp, yet the Solaris is 5 minutes less!

Re: lamp/bulb mix??

The LSI select is a great lamp for the ZX sunstars.

The Signature series from LSI are great lamps,we use them in everything from VHR beds to stand-ups.

Re: lamp/bulb mix??

Hi Tans are a 10 min lamp, high on UVB. I've seen this in many salons which is crazy. If your regulated and get inspected I'm surprised they haven't busted you yet. Put some light source lamps in there and you will be fine 6.5 are fine.

Re: lamp/bulb mix??

My last sheets show regulations but not implemented. Your just burning your customers if they are going 20 min. with the Hi tan lamps. Great lamps but not for that bed unless you run it 10min.

Re: lamp/bulb mix??

You can make them into 10 minute units by getting the beds recertified. Which is very costly. NY is regulated & are going to get pretty strict in the near future.

Your 30 Minute Sunstar zx30's should be using a 3.6-6.5% UVB lamp only. Most stick around 4.2-5%. Same with the facial beds.

The Magic Sun 23/160R's are a good choice for the standup. That unit works better with a higher UVB like that. 10-11 minutes is fine.

Your Solaris 42 should have a 100W reflector in the top.
