Re: What's the best High Pressure Bed?

With all due respect to Tomorrow Sun, because I think she is a GOOD operator and DOES know how to sell HP!

That said - it doesn't NECESSARILY work in every market.

The markets Tomorrow Sun has described are not 'typical' of many.

Her main salon is in a market that is smaller and has less income than what "on paper" should work. However, it is also older (HP is an easier sell to older than college age for a lot of reasons). And not sure what the "saturation" is like - may be lower than many salons see in the States. Also - in Canada. Not a lot of "great weather" months there!

Bottom line is - 2 salons are open 7 months or less, so can't say three are "thriving" yet. One DEFINITELY is - $295K on 8 beds in that small of a community is great! The others may show the same things over time. And if they do, you can bet that HP will be a lot of the reason why, because it holds such high price points.

If you can buy HP for $4K -- ABSOLUTELY - you can make it "work". That's easy.

Can everyone make it work for $35-50K? No.

Do I think it is a STRONG addition to MOST salon mixes - yep.

Do I know salons where it has NOT worked as well as others - sure.

As for the "best" -- same answer as above. It depends. If you can get away with putting in a 10 year old mattress tanner that you can pick up cheap -- do that!! If you HAVE to have ALL the latest/greatest to be competitive -- I'd look to Iso Italia, Sportarredo, Sun Italia, Tan America, Ergoline. Others would throw some others in that mix too probably.

Re: What's the best High Pressure Bed?

Our salons are located on Vancouver Island. The weather here is no differect than that of Seattle, WA. We don't have the cold weather but we get rain. Our summers are warm and humid as well. We do have all 4 seasons.

The reason I say they are thriving is because of the traffic and $$ coming through the door. The one that was opened in March 2007 is adding 4-5 new people everyday. Thats throught he slow season. The salon that was opened jsut 45 days ago is already doing more sales and traffic than it did under the previous owner did in May, 2007.

I have no dought that salon 2 will out do salon 1 within the next 2 years at the rate it is going. And salon 3, it is already showing signs that it can attract even more simply because of the population in the area. We have one of the largest high schools in the city and 2 major universities within a 5 min drive. Plus we are on the edge of the richest suburb inside the city.

So again, I think HP will work anywhere with the proper education!

Re: What's the best High Pressure Bed?

Parret Head

You just sold your HP a few weeks ago. You said that it was a year old and had 500 hours on it. With those numbers you should have made at least $36,000 in one year running that unit. Thats only getting $18 per session. So you still made good money.

500 hours = 30,000 min
30,000 min = 2000 sessions at 15 min per session
2000 sessions x $18 = $36,000

My wife offered to help you twice on another chat site and she never heard from you. Did you really give it your all? Or was selling it an easy out insead of learning.

The Ergoline Open Sun 1050 should be considered as well.
