facial lamp flickering

I have a bed with 3 facials & 1 was flickering. I replaced that lamp and it came on when the bed was first started. We turned the bed off and then back on & the lamp would not come on. If we bump the bed a lil the lamp will turn on. What could this possibly be?

Re: facial lamp flickering

Lamp not inserted in the socket properly or loose wire to the ignitor may be another.

What bed is it?

Re: facial lamp flickering

How do you check to see if it's the ignitor. Haven't worked on many of these beds. It's an ETS

Re: facial lamp flickering

Trace the bad lamp wires back to the ignitor usually a silver tube looking thing then swap that ignitor with another lamp that you know is working fine if the problem follows the swap then it is the ignitor.

Re: facial lamp flickering

Hold it against your tongue while the bed is running. If you wake up across the room and smell like you just went tanning for 2 days straight, then you know its not a voltage problem.

Re: facial lamp flickering

We turned this bed on this weekend and the facial lamps come on as soon as the bed starts. This is a 15 min. bed and when the timer gets to 9 mins the 1 facial turns off. It stays off for 2 mins and comes back on. Every 2 mins. it's turning on and off. Could this still be an ignitor problem?

Re: facial lamp flickering

Sounds heat related.

Re: facial lamp flickering

There should be a heat sensor on the back of the facial unit (behind the aluminum that is behind the lamp) That could be bad or possible the fan that cool the facial stopped working. If the fans near the facials are working try changing the heat sensor.
