Hey guys and gals,

I searched and found only a few threads about Blue Soleil HP lamps. The latest opinion was that they are not so great. Does anyone have opinions on these lamps now that they have been out for a few years? Yes they are inexpensive, which may mean cheap. Really, UV output readings from an actual salon would be great!

I don't think they are that bad - I have bought them a few times.

I have run numbers on them and the initial are not bad, it is the inconsistancy and failures that are the problem.. Life is not so good. I do not have a salon anyomore but have tested them many times

We use 400watt. How long of a life did you think you got out of them?

All 400watt horizontal mount HP lamps pretty much suck in terms of output unless they are on top of you.

Well they are the face tanners, 3 per bed. And the beds are ETS, so they already suck. I just don't want to add more suck to an already sucky bed. Any more sucking and the beds are gonna just plain blow.

The lamps are fine for entry level units.

I bought them a couple of years ago for 1 bed just to to see how they performed.
When I metered them, they didn't meter any more than the ones I was replacing.
Needless to say I didn't buy them again.
