Re: meter reading

7.0 meter is actually more important than the 5.0.

5.0 is only for reference and bragging rights.
7.0 is for TIME TILL BURN (4MED) this is what you need.

Re: meter reading

Cosemedico VHR HI-Tan is what I just relamed with also. They are the closest to the Bodyscan XXX (same lamp I'm told). I got over 1000 hrs before they metered needing replacing.

Egg(fant) is correct - sort of.

ANY of the Solarmeters can be used for lamp aging tests. Check 'em when they're new (after break-in as mercury balls quit swirling) and renew them when they drop off 30% from new reading. This IST article explains it all: http://www.islandsuntimes.com/04-07/measure.htm

The 5.0 is best for browning rays. The 7.0 is for burning rays (like big UVB panthers, etc). You need some of BOTH rays to make good tans... but not TOO much 7.0 meter rays.

The FAQ page and the Model pages at NEW website www.solarmeter.com should help answer any questions.
