Sundome XL-48 Help
My sundome xl-48 is giving me a headache that I hope someone can help me with.
Everytime I tan it starts up fine. It will run and then all of a sudden at 3 minutes into the tan the circuit blows . I checked the power with a volt meter and its at 218 volts (so no idea why it blows) I dont have a buck booster. Is it time I get one installed? Any help would be appreciated Thanks Beezer |

Re: Sundome XL-48 Help
Are you using the proper size circuit breaker?

Re: Sundome XL-48 Help
I just worked on one that was doing the same thing. Check the wire connection in the junction box. If the wires are hot, shut off the power, let them cool down and remove the wire caps, inspect the wires to be sure they are not burnt, and reconnect them snuggly.

Re: Sundome XL-48 Help
you should also be using copper lugs not wire nuts....its a better and easier connection.
are you using the right gauge wire? is this all of a sudden or did you just install it?

Re: Sundome XL-48 Help
Check current draw with an amprobe. If it is under 60 amps, the breaker is bad. Make sure all connections are tight.
If the current draw is over 60 amps, there is a problem. You probably have a bad capacitor. Your voltage is too low. Add a booster to get it to 230 volts and it will tan better.
