Re: best standup for the buck
I hate standups... they are my least used pc of equipment. I won't even put one in if the salon is under 20 units. Waste of my money!

Re: best standup for the buck
Stand-ups are oftentimes the least used, but in NY, you will find you can use one or more even as people are quite "used" to stand-ups there.
Picking a piece of equipment on tan time makes less sense than picking it on results and "value" for the price you pay. Many very good standups in the 12-15K price range. I like the Tan America SunUp2 for the facials, the KBL Space Tower with mist & aroma for the "bling bling" and the KBL Pure Energy Tower for hands down tanning performance. The Montego Bay V56 would be one of my last choices if I wanted a GREAT standup. Very average - fine, but nothing special. If I was going that route, I'd like buy used instead and find a similar quality one at half the price. Here you could be talking $5K or less. If you are working on your business plan, it is critical that you have the right "mix" and understand what equipment you'll need to be successful. PM me for more specific questions about your location/situation if you want. |

Re: best standup for the buck
The Oblix is actually an 8 min machine with 55 lamps vs. 54 in Suncapsule. Not sure how they crammed another in there, but **** have at it.

Re: best standup for the buck
I had the Sundazzler by Heartland once and the cooling in that thing was non-existant. It was a body roaster and if you went the whole 11 minutes you were cooked. Also the acrylic was a bear to keep clean and some of the uv is lost through the acrylic. But, you could buy two Sundazzlers for what the Suncapsule costs. Who needs two? Even with the cost, I still chose the Super Sonic. If I had it to do over, I would't have a stand-up. It just sets there most of the time. I've had it for two years now and don't have 400 hours on it yet.

Re: best standup for the buck
Piff. I'd rather have acrylics to clean than those toaster grilles that DON"T ever get cleaned.
The cooling issues of the older Dazzlers was resolved years ago, and with no need for the freaking typhon winds blowing thru. Suncrapsule tanner -----------> ![]() |
