What could be causing this??
I have all heartland beds in my salon, and they were all running great THEN...one bed has been giving me nothing but trouble. I have an Ovation 134. It originally didnt come with reflector lamps, but I went ahead and put Cosmolux VLR 9K90's in it for my first relamp. Well, I have relamped it at least 3 times its whole life. I put electronic starters in it the first relamp also. Well, lately it has been flickering 3 of my lamps, they light up, dim, light up, dim, and eventually turn off. I have flipped flopped lamps, checked the starters, and checked the voltage. Any idea's what could be causing this? The lamp holders look fine also!

Re: What could be causing this??
Yeah, they are 100Watt VLR 9K90's...I did do that on my first relamp though, I use 160Watt 9K90's in my stand-up and I accidently put those in 134, of course after the acryllic was in, I looked and I realized, that was sure a pain in the butt!!

Re: What could be causing this??
Har. Well flickering, from what I understand can be a voltage or starter problem. That's the best I can do.... :( Unless someone slipped in one of those blinking lights for christmas.

Re: What could be causing this??
Do you think it could be a short in the wiring to the lamp holders perhaps?? Tomorrow I am gonna take apart the entire bed and resecure all the wires and do a good cleaning.. Whats weird is I swapped lamps and it definitely isnt the lamps.. I couldnt imagine 3 ballasts going at one time!! Any other ideas? Thanks for your help Neon

Well? At this point, w/o further advice, taking the unit "apart" and checking connections is not a bad option. But it still seems strange. Wish I had further info for you, but I'm dumb.

Re: What could be causing this??
what electronic starters did you put in? You need the right ones for 100 watt lamps. Also, are they the same three lamps? Could be a capacitor issue as well.

Re: What could be causing this??
I used Smart Start S12 Electronic Lamp Starters.. When you say the same 3 lamps what do you mean. Any lamp will not light up fully in those 3 sockets. If I put the lamps that are flickering in any other socket they start right up, they are probably ruined now from all that flickering though

Re: What could be causing this??
When I move the starters to another socket they start the other lamps right up to, so I have eliminated those.. I am going to give all the beds in my salon a good cleaning this weekend, and I am going to check out the wires leading up to the lamp sockets and such
