Re: ICON VS CAYENNE VS KBL 6800
Well, I guess I'll speak up for KBL since nobody has ANY experience with them yet since they are new to the U.S. market.
KBL is and has been very successful in Germany for years. In the U.S. market, they were sold as Sonnenbraun (they private labelled for them). They also manufacture the Crimson Sun for Heartland - a striped down 5600/6800. I don't think you'll find many if any complaints about Sonnenbraun or from anyone with the Crimson Sun in terms of performance or reliability. As a general rule, Germans do the big VHR better than anyone. So you are in the right grouping considering these three beds. Above and beyond tanning performance (which they deliver) and reliable/dependable equipment, the KBL beds have some of the coolest "little things" of most lines I've seen. They are designed to be very quiet when in operation - more like a soothing white noise than feeling like you are tanning in an airplane engine like some equipment. They are more energy efficient than many - lots of "bang", but you don't have to drive the he** out of them to make that happen. Easy maintenance features. And so on. Hey - I'm biased -- I am selling them. I'm doing this because I absolutely believe in the product, and I absolutely believe in the "team" we have assembled here to stand behind them in terms of service and support. If I didn't, I wouldn't be involved. That said -- I wouldn't knock any of the other choices either. It's going to come down to which one you feel is the best "value" for what you're getting and where you feel the most comfortable with the sort of relationship you'll have down the line after the sale. Anyway you go, I guarantee your customers will thank you! |

Re: ICON VS CAYENNE VS KBL 6800
Sunsally, that is the way I like someone to tell me about the beds they are selling. Tell me the good things about your beds, how they are built and what they can do. You never had to rip the other beds apart to try and sell your beds, unlike the guy that sells the deer cooker. I like the looks of the KBL line and have heard good things about them.______________:glasses:

Re: ICON VS CAYENNE VS KBL 6800
the thing I like about then is they "juice" their lamps a bit. 120watt ballasts with 100watt lamps can be quite good in the right setup. Also, 140watt ballasts with 160watt lamps can also, be quite an interesting combo...that's if it's done correctly.

Re: ICON VS CAYENNE VS KBL 6800
OK ready for all you tanning bed enthusiasts. If you want a real tanning bed well above the competition. You buy an ERGOLINE EXCELLENCE 880 A/C !!
51 160W VHO/ HP lamps. 4 Ultra Proformance VIT technology Facials . Temptronic, Full A/C . Aqua Mist. Optional Multi Vision !!! starting at low $36k This bed tans you so incredibly any competition you may have will have to sit back and twiddle there fingers. Just because a bed claims to have more "Watts" means absolutely nothing I can gurantee you the 880's facials are better output and would out tan an S-Class !! |

Re: ICON VS CAYENNE VS KBL 6800
For about 3 grand more you can buy a Magic 636, with the mugg 6 glass, a 360 high pressure bed that will blow the ergoline away. Wasn't there someone that was on the forum that was complaining about how low the output of this bed was and trying to get ideas on how to boost it up?________________:glasses:

Re: ICON VS CAYENNE VS KBL 6800
Ok, so we're straying pretty far from Icon vs. Cayenne vs KBL 6800......:)
The earlier complaints on this board were over an Ergo 850 -- the "combo" HP/LP unit. The 880 is their biggest VHR, the new and improved version of the Ergo 800. The 1050 is the just released Ergo 360 HP. How it tans remains to be seen, but I'm sure it will be a contender, if not the eventual champion. Whether that will happen in the first year or not is the big question -- same thing for Tan America's new Solarix HP. Magic with Mug 6 will tan you and be reasonably comfortable. For me, I just can NOT get over the "look" -- I think it looks cheap. Fit and finish is nothing like the Matrix (or Ergo or others) and it looks like the lowest quality when all the HP are lined up side-by-side. Of course, you won't HAVE them all lined up side-by-side in your salon! You'll probably have one. So if that is the one you choose, and you believe in it, and you sell it, you'll probably rock with it. Personally I prefer the Iso Italia product. The improved Matrix (now the L33ER and V28ER) as well as the new smaller footprinted L28ER and V19 are beautiful. They run 17-18% cooler, better energy efficiency, better output. Bottom line is, all these beds are the type of equipment that make you money in your salon! If you don't have these kinds of upgrades yet, ask yourself what sort of profit opportunity you are giving up by limiting your customers to smaller and cheaper options. Your "mix" is critical to determining whether you are going to "just get by" or really soar! |
