Mystic or Magic Tan, which is better? - Page 8

I have owned Mystic for 3 years. I hate it. Results are good. We use the Cal - TAn solution because it smells better and you only have to use level one on most customers. The booth makes a total mess. My whole salon is covered in mist. I have the original machine maybe the new ones are better designed.

I have 2 Mystic machines..The original I purchased new 4 years ago..A mess for the entire salon..Purchased 2nd one 2 1/2 years ago. Dual system..Still a mess..I'm not sure you can avoid this when your dealing with clients who leave the door open, cracked or closed during and leave it open when the exit..hum..we tried sticky notes..posted notes a lovely presentation on the wall..cCLOSE the door!!! but hey..we just stopped stressin..take the $25 bucks..clean the entire salon walls, doors, carpets,change ceiling tiles etc..daily and sometimes twice daily..great exercise program..lol

Install an automatic spring door closer on the door (like the front door) and the door will stay shut.

I think Mystic is over sold also. IMO. I hear the most complaints on the smell, how it streaks, too much solution,etc. Again IMO, I think Mystic tan is one of the worst products ever to happen for sunless tanning, too many people I know wanted to try Mystic for its name and then had a horrible experience so they will not try spray tanning ever again. Even when they see how good it can look they figure its their skin and its extremely rare to get them to try any spray again.

I had a mystic for 2 years and now I have a Magic Tan 3000 and with the 36 spray heads it provides a much more even tan than my mystic did. I havn't had one complaint of streaking. I also like the magic tan solution better, less of a smell and it seems to absorb better. I think if Mystic tan put a little less money in advertising and little more in equipment design they could have the best spraybooth on the market.

I would say a mystic tan is better. Although I really wouldn't recommend a level 3, I seen some people do that and end up too orange.

We currently have a Mystic WITH a spring closing door and a clear acrlic top on it. I've never had to clean the ceiling (of the salon) or wipe down the entire room after a customer leaves. We do spray out the booth and both ceiling and wipe down the inner walls after each client (takes less than 5 mins) and 2 X's a week we clean out the entire room as well as all our other rooms. (washing/scrubing down the walls and cleaning behind and under the beds). Each nite every room is vacumed, mopped and spray disinfected. This has worked well for us.
