Re: Going to 100w VLR9k90

Tanner06, What state are you in? Depends if you are regulated or not and how regulated. If you are not regulated, you can do what ever you want with the lamps in your bed just as long as your smart about it. With the 36/2, I don't believe the lamps are spaced apart too far so you shouldn't have any issues with stripping. The Cosmedic VLR 9k90 is a very good lamp. Its hard to explain to customers about UVA/UVB, Phos blends etc. You can actually go to www.cosmedico.com and get all the spec of their lamps. I'm at home right now and don't have them. I don't think the VLR 9K90 is a 15min. exposure time though but it maybe, I have a mind block. Search their site, it will be helpful. If you need help understanding the flux, te, tm let me know. Good Luck.....

Why change, the VLR 9K90 takes longer than 15 minutes. closer to 20 minutes anyway.

Re: Going to 100w VLR9k90

I posted earlier about my results in the Ambition at 15 and they are great. I don't know why everyone is saying they are longer than 15 min lamps. On Cosmedico's website it says 13 - 17 minutes. There is also a full coat version that is 20 minutes, are some people getting confused between the 2 versions?

Re: Going to 100w VLR9k90

Flounder your Ambition unit overdrives the 100W lamp by using a 120W choke ballast.

The Royal Sun & most other units only use a 100W Choke ballast. It truely works best at 20 minutes.

For a better 15 minute session try the LSI Signature Series HP or the Philips Swift HP. Both are stronger & make for a much better 15 minute session.

Oh yeah, they cost less also.

Re: Going to 100w VLR9k90

The Ambition is "supposedly" a 120W ballast. So maybe you are overdriving them thus getting a better result.
