Acrylic replacement - is it special material?
ok, this may be a dumb question, so be gentle with me.... I need to replace some of the acrylics but I am wondering if it is special material used in the acrylics that allows the passing of UV light or what to look for or special instructions, specifications needed to give to a potential manufacturer.
The problem is that I have 3 beds, and one standup that are very nice solid and fully working units, but were made by a local guy, they use cosmedico parts but the acrylics are custom so they need to be made and the local guy made enough money to retire early. Several companies have told me "No problem" but I would like to make sure they are replaced with the right material and specs, not just a peice of plexiglass technical data and scientific content Req'd |

Okay, wait.....the beds were made by someone? Their not brand name beds?
If you call an acrylic place they will have the proper stuff. I had mine done locally and it did say UV or Solar or something on the wrapper that came on it.

Is there bends in it? Did he give you the proper measurements? That has to be exact.

Re: Acrylic replacement - is it special material?
thanks SandiGirl, I was hoping to use someone local, so I can take the old one in and they can dupe it... but I know some of the potential manufacturers tried to sell me acrylic material that blocks UV rays... which is not good for a tanning bed, hehehehe
Dont suppose you have an old wrapper around :) |
