Re: building my own tanning booth
Building a quality tanning bed is a bit more complex then just throwing some metal and lamps toghter it involves much more including certifcations for someone not even having worked on taning beds wanting to build tanning beds this is to complex for them. I only know of one or two people that have succesfully started building tanning beds without support of a factory and other people such as people who make the mold, filter glass, and the components.
Bill Gates started something that involved knowledge it's called coding and making programs so the comparison is not the same. Your going to need support from several different companies to build tanning beds and if your not going to commit to say 100 or so I don't see you getting very much support. So the Idea of you starting to build tanning beds without any knowledge or working on them is a bit out of touch with reality shell we say. But I wish you the best of luck. Maybe you can build one bed for your home and test it out..

Re: building my own tanning booth
This is got to be the best one I've ever heard........
Even if you are experienced, there is soooooooooooo much involved. We spent few thousand on just a design for a home unit with and engineer. That is just the beginning my friend. Good Luck, thats all I've got to say. If you got an unlimited bankroll though call me. |

Re: building my own tanning booth
if any of you guys buy into this you need to wake up. anybody with enough electrical/enginering knowledge to build a tanning machine does not come onto a site and ask what he needs to build it.
heres a clue HES ASKING WHAT SIDE OF THE LIGHT IS POSITIVE AND WHICH IS NEGATIVE.......~shaking head~

Re: building my own tanning booth
Hey I'm planning on building my own booth. I assume that you are talking about building something for your own personal use. Is this to save money or just to see if you can? If you are trying to save money, forget it. It will cost you more to buy the parts than if you bought a used bed. If you just want to play around to see if you can, go for it.
A type of prototype you could say. Anyways any help you guys can offer? Information on the lights and how they link up? Like positive side and negative side? If you want to know how they work and are wired, look at a flourescent light fixture. Same basic principle. If this is a serious question regarding positive and negative, I strongly suggest you find someone that has a little more knowledge about electrical theory than you do to help you. I would hate to hear that you fried yourself or burned your house down. Any good place to buy them? And the electronics that go with it? Skip the electronics. If you want to try to build something, go simple. Use ballasts, lampholders and lamps and a mechanical timer. Keep in mind that you can buy a used bed cheaper than you can build something and the used bed is going to be higher quality than what you can build. Also, I would be afraid to allow anyone else to use it if I did get it built. Good grounds for a potential lawsuit. Good luck |
