Bypass Plug for remote control
Does anyone know what else you can do to bypass the remote control system. We purchased a Sunvision bed and it was originally hooked up to a remote system. We can not get the bed to turn on without it. We were told we need a bypass plug from a tanning bed distributor. Is there anything we can do in the meantime to use the bed?

Re: Bypass Plug for remote control
The plug is basically the phone cord with the green and yellow wires connected to eachother and the red and black left alone...I checked one of the plugs I had, but check with ETS first just incase they changed them!!

Re: Bypass Plug for remote control
Depends on which Sun Vision and how old it is. If you do have the one with the phone jack, do what tanman said. The jack is not your typical phone jack, its the smaller one that is used on you head set of a telephone, and twist the yellow and green together that will bypass the unit.
If you have the older round type, its the Red and Black wire. You can bypass them under the hood of the unit if you would like. Or if you are hooking up a remote time, conect those wires to the red and black. PM if you need any other help.... |

Re: Bypass Plug for remote control
OK,
you have the red and black wire connected together. In this manner, you can use the onboard timer to set session time. If you disconnect the red and black wire from each other, place an auxilary timer in between the red and black wires, you will need to activate both the on board and auxilary timer for the unit to operate. (hence remote operation)

Re: Bypass Plug for remote control
Normally with this unit you just contect the black and red wires together and then turn on your timer and it should work. The white and green you should just leave alone and just put a wire nut on them so they don't touch anything else. If the bed doesn't come on then you have a different issue or someone has played around with this unit before. PM me and I will give you my number or you can take the top off it and take a digital pic and email it to me and I can get you going.
