anyone have an opinion of the puretan ellipse 3?
just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the Puretan ellipse 3 beds? I have some of the 36 bulb Puretan (I guess its an ellipse 2). Like is the 40 bulb high pressure bed worth the extra $$?
I love the tan the 36 bulb gives. In fact, i've been all around town trying out different beds and eventhough I am probably partial the 36 bulb gives an awesome tan. |

Re: anyone have an opinion of the puretan ellipse 3?
We have the Puretan ellipse 3 bed and I feel it is it it one of the best beds in it's class. It is a 42 bulb bed with 160's on top and 100 on the bottom. Plus the 8 - 400 watt facials, for a total of 50 bulbs. I have had a lot of customers tell me that it is the best bed they have ever tanned on. It is not the fanciest of the beds out there. It doesn't have the twisted acrylic, neon lights, and gobs of shiny plastic, it just tans. We have had it for 5 years and we have not had to repair it once.

Re: anyone have an opinion of the puretan ellipse 3?
I have had 2
Do not buy the Eliipse IV (160 top and bottom) this bed is rated for 10 mins and that is not enough time. Only buy a Ellipse III w/facials because: 1. It has 3200 watts of facial tanning power and it is a close dome to boot 2. puretan uses 160 watt ballast to drive the 140 watt (59") tubes, It really cranks out but you have to replace the bulbs more often (we changed ours at 450 hours) 3 I used to run mine at 245 volts and it never burned out (well, 2 fans and a facial relay) If you do this, I recomend putting higher rated plugs on the wires connecting the canopy to the main board. We used 25-30 amp twist locks.

Re: anyone have an opinion of the puretan ellipse 3?
Ellipse III with HP facials ABSOLUTELY ROCKS! I don't recommend the Ellipse IV though for the same reason House of Tan says. We paid a little extra to get Textured Red color put on this bed & it is gourgeous.

Usually? Depends on the type and how much - and the PT Elipse III has a ton and a half of both! hehe
