Solart 52/4 Canopy

Hi, all i have just joined and hope to be of help to some in other areas, however i do have a problem which has occured on my solart 52/4 by acn,my top canopy is extremely stiff when elevating up and down position.I have stripped both strutts on left and right hand side of bed that supports top canopy with springs, the top canopy is now only supported with hinges, when raising up and down it is still stiff... most of the tension and creeking seems to be from left hinge.I do not have any experience with these beds and the company that supplied me the beds went bust.If anyone has any information on these models i would be most gratefull.
Thanks.

Re: Solart 52/4 Canopy

Beware!! modifying a bed in this way will put you in the category as a bed manufacturer and you become responsible for liability.
Check with the mfg. and see if they can help resolve the problem. Something is wrong and you need to find and correct the problem.

Re: Solart 52/4 Canopy

If the only thing left is the hinges and the are creaking, either they are worn out and binding or they are too tight. I'm just guessing here as I've never seen the bed but usually, the thing that's making an unusual noise is the problem. Is there a hinge friction adjustment on this bed? Can you replace the hinges?
