The Sol Glass by LSI is something totally new to the market. What most tanning lamp makers use for glass in tanning lamps is the same as what you use in the ceiling of your salon, nothing special. LSI has made a unique glass, that is more open, to let more UV to pass. This new glass technology lets them use very little to no UVB phosphors & a lot more UVA phosphors. Yet it can still provide a suffiecient 10-12 minute session, with lots of UVA.

The 5 minute movie really explains the technology well, I am still learning it also.

Through the combined R&D efforts of their US headquarters in Connecticut and their European glass factory,
LightSources has developed SolGlass – an innovative and proprietary glass technology – to create the most
effective tanning lamps available.
Most glass tubes used in tanning lamps are the exact same as those used in fluorescent bulbs, and are inherently designed
