Just for kicks. Whats the effects of putting 160w lamps in a 100w unit?

Nothing will happen very big, it just won't tan worth a beans. You will only be pushing 100 watts into a lamp that is designed for 160 Watts. Now if you put a 100 watt lamp in a unit that has 160 watt ballast, the lamp will light and tan for a very short time and it will burn out within a few sessions or so.

100W and 120W are the same. 160W lamps will run at 100W in a 100W set-up. Problem is start-up. The 160's will have a hard time lighting up in a 100W bed or booth.

So if you are saying that they are the same, dose that mean that I could use the 120s in my 100 watt bed? Advantages and Disadvantages??

there is no 120 lamp. actually there is but its a long lamp. so no a true 120lamp will not work in a 100watt setup without bending to fit
