What is the price difference between the 2 lamps.

I hear the 9k90's last a really long time compared to previous Cosmolux lamps.

nutanner,

The VHR TT will provide more immediate results, you get the wow factor when you come out of the bed.

The VHR 9k90 is more of a delayed reaction, you get darker as the day goes on, some immediate color, but not as much as the TT. Skin types 3-4 will like the TT better.

Re: 9k90s

9K90's for the North American market are manufactured in Canada, not Germany. Wolff lamps are also manufactured in Canada, not USA.

Re: 9k90s

9K90'S ....ARE worth the extra expense. Trust me on this one. I've had various lamp brands working side by side in my SunCapsule booth for the last 400 hours. I did some comparison testing last night to see what the results are, now that the lamps are near the end of their life.

Yep, the Cosmolux 9K90 will OUTLAST the others I've been using in this booth, hands down!!

I'll post UV data and lamp brand names soon.

Re: 9k90s

As promised.... here's the lamp comparison data I took from my test stand. AKA SunCapsule. The lamps compared are 160W - 200W VHR Reflector design driven at approximately 180W power supply.

All lamps had the same warm up time and same ambient conditions.
Measurements taken with Solarmeter 5.0 and 7.0

Hereaus MagicSun 23 160W 290 hours used 29 UV A+B 27 MED/hr

Signature Series Plus 160W 300 hours used 30.6 UV A+B 27 MED/hr

Cosmolux 200W 400 hours used 34 UV A+B 23 MED/hr

Cosmolux 9K90 160W 500 hours used 42 UV A+B 27 MED/hr

Signature Series Plus 160 W 0 hours usage 43 UV A+B 41 MED/hr

I believe this tells the story about the value of the 9K90 lamps.

Note: this was one of the earlier models of the 9K90 purchased shortly after they were announced as being available.

Re: 9k90s

bsmart

Your not comparing apples to apples.

Try the 9K90 compared to other "New Era" lamps such as:

Signature Series VHOR HP
Heraeus Magic Sun 4/160R
Voltarc PWR
LSI Signature Series SGT (Sol Glass)

Of course the 9k90 will outlast the other lamps you have listed, it has way less UVB. (UVB deteriorates faster than UVA, less UVB the longer the life)

Also the 9k90 will meter higher on the 5.0 meter because it peaks at 365 nm, just like other "new era" lamps. The other ones you metered peak around 355 nm, so of course they will read lower.

Apples to Apples comparisons are much better.

Apples to Oranges comparisons can be misleading!
