Rich!
I am SO GLAD you responded to my topic....I thought I was going crazy over these darn lamps...Sunergoline, who i bought my lamps from directly said to me that I was the only one who has complained about this lamp. Everyone loves these new "hot lamps"!!!!!!...I couldn't frigging believe it!!!!!.....The part I still can't get over, is how the **** they can pass this off as the same lamp, when it runs completely differently....& not giving tanning salon owners any pre-warning....its totally irresponsible....I get madder about it everyday. There is no way this lamp can still be FDA compliant with this bed. What can one do about it??? I just don't want anyone else to go thru this. They are going to replace my lamps with the old Light source version, but to me, that doesn't resolve the issue. As far as I'm concerned it is unsafe. |

This is emblematic of the "anything goes" philosophy that still flickers in the tanning industry. It's not unexpected from Sun Ergoline. Going back decades, I find Sun as a company quite ignorant in installing reasonable and consistent lamps, vis-a-vis a given max timer. To pick one example out of many, how about the 15 minute Classic 600 with the OEM quite hot UVB Genesis lamps and the lower UVB Philips OEM version at 12 minutes. Makes no sense. You don't even need a meter. Just tan and observe.
The Genesis Light Sources lamp was reasonable in their Sundash/Genesis beds. It had plenty of UVB, more than most beds both 100 watt and 160 reflector at even shorter Te. It's the hottest lamp in my salon at level 1 and I have four levels. They're lasting an absurdly long time. If a company like Sun/ergoline changes lamp makers, the lamps HAVE TO BE + or - 10% to the OEM lamp. All responsible people in the tanning indsutry should protest these clearly out-of-compliance Cosmedico made lamps directly to Sun/Ergoline. The are endangering the public and risking the reputation of conscientious salons. They won't listen to salon owners but they will listen to their peers. |

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. Please contact me at 1-877-786-5267 so that we can identify the batcht hat you received.
We are returning lamps to our supplier for testing and in the mean time have halted the sale of this particular lamp until the outcome of the test is known. |

I am normally a supporter of sun ergoline, however I simply don't know what they were thinking here. When I first changed my lamps I burned so many people and I couldn't figure out what was going on. This new lamp is no where even close to a 20 minute lamp nor is it even close to there old lamp. I was able to returned my un used lamps to my distributor for other lamps but I still had to eat 104 lamps that only had around 100 hours on them. This cost me a lot of money not to mention for about a month I was buring people left and right which was horrible for my reputation. How they sold these lamps as 20 minute lamps is beyond me and how they didn't even warn salon owner is irresponsible. I have a great relationship with my distributor, I don't blame them I believe they had no idea I think it must have been sunergoline. Amazing if they are telling you that you are the only one to complain they are full of it.

Rich,
Yep, that's what they told me.....HOWEVER, they amazingly agreed to exchange 3 bed's worth, for the original Light Source lamp at no charge...Maybe your distributor can go back to their source to get yours covered too. Even though you've done the responsible thing & replaced yours at your own cost, if they agree to replace them ,you could hold on to them for your next lamp change. |
