We have a Prosun 2801 with face lamp (20 min. timer)and we need to replace the lamps. It currently has Bellariums SA1-71-100W.
Any suggestions on some excellent replacements lamps for this bed would be greatly appreciated.

Why do you not like the Bellariums?? They are very good quality lamps. If you change, be sure you stick with one of the Big 3 makers. Wolff, Cosmolux, or Light Sources. These guys have a proven performance record.

The bed was bought used and we're not sure about how many hours are on these lamps. We have decided to buy new lamps. However didn't know if there were other lamps that would be better than the Bellariums SA1-71-100W. We have been told that there has been improvements in lamps since the Bellariums.

Newbie here, Really don't know much about the various lamps. We just recently bought this bed from a salon that closed and trying to learn which lamps we need. In the past I've used the beds at the salon/video rental and never thought much about the various lamps.

The Wolff Bellarium S is an old school lamp that hasn't changed in almost 20 years. Technology has changed a ton since then. I would go with Cosmedico ESP or an LSI Beach Sun. They will give fast, dark results.

John-
What is your opinion of Wolff Velocity and Velocity Plus lamps? We changed our beds about 400 hours ago and they are metering VERY LOW. These beds originally had the Speed lamps in them (I know they have been discontinued).
Thank you for your input.

John- Is the ESP-R compatible with the Bellarium S......I was considering the ESP-R for my 15 minute beds when I go to relamp. I wanted to put the Goldarium in my 20's. Do you think those would be good choices or should I use the LSI Beach Sun over the Goladarium.

Thanks for the help

Sb tanning,
The Wolff Velocity lamp is a decent lamp for beginners only, More advanced tanners always want a better lamp than that. The Velocity Plus is slightly stronger and a better choice for an entry level unit. It will please more skin types. I wouldn't pay more than $11.00 for it.

nativetan,

The ESP-R is way to strong & will never be compatible to the Bellarium S. The Cosmolux Goldarium Sp is a very nice lamp for your 20 minute beds, I would stick with that or use the LSI Midday Sun, the Beach Sun is quite a bit stronger.

So is the Goldarium SP a better bulb than the Velocity's? I want a quality lamp that has a usable life of 500 hours. I am not happy with the usable life of either the Velocity or Velocity Plus (we have both in our base bed). Thank you!
