Neon Beach:
The first thing that you will need to look at is the remote interface connector, located at the rear of the canopy. If it is a round 4-pin, 7-pin connector then you will need to turn the voltage off going to the unit, and then take the connector apart. If the wires comming from your T-Max wall unit in the room with the bed, are not in the correct connector positions ("1" & "3") then this is the cause of your problem. If you need any more help with this problem, please feel free to post me again and i will do my best to answer it as quickly as i can. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: pugzilla on 2003-10-24 08:10 ] |

Thanks. The T-Max and beds have been working well for the past 5 years, however, the dial timer has, during the last couple of months, decided to make an annoying "grinding" noise when the bed is in use.

Everything works the way it should, it's just that while the unit is running you can hear the dial timer making an annoying noise. The noise is something you might expect to hear if the dial timer was cranked up. I'm not sure if the T-max is somehow wired through the dial timer and was curious if I unplugged the wires to the dial timer if the T-Max would still work and if that noise would stop.

now that ANOTHER weld has failed on my 3002 i am curious as to how the company will respond the first time it happened the beds were less than 2 yaers old .now that this bed is 3 years old it will be VERY interesting how this situation plays out. as i understand it the welds have a life time warranty a new canopy is in order and anything less is gonna be bad. not to mention a customer had to climb out the head of the bed because the canopy almost fell on her leg. to say i'm upset is a huge understatment. . i will let everyone know how this is resolved. hopefully when i talk to prosun tommorrow i can post how happy i am that all is well. i know my lawyer cant wait for some news from them .

willtanu: I do not know much about the database 10,000 timer control system, but usually most remote timer systems have a wall switch in the room with the tanning units and on the back of them there is a spot that is marked "contact" and this is where the beds remote wires are connected. There should be a length of 18/2 lampcord comming from the back of the Lumina series units with a two position terminal block connected on the end of it that you would use to connect the unit to the wall switch inside the room with the unit. The remote timer needs some type of a way to make contact between the two wires comming from the back of the unit to get it to come on. I hope this information will help you get your bed to function with the remote timer system that you have.

Willtanu, the RA-25 has a solid state relay that does not work for all equipment, such as the old Prosun Luxura series that were controlled by a triac board. If the voltage between the two remote timer pins on the terminal block that the 18/2 cord is connected to is at least 120 VAC, then the RA-25 will work. I think the voltage between these wires on the Lumina is 220vac. Is that correct, pugzilla?

OK, I think I understand..on our current tanning beds there are two (1 blk/1 white)120V lampcord type wires that run from our tanning units to the screw-in contacts on the RA-25 wall switch...the RA-25 then uses a 4-wire colored (phoneline) set-up coming from the wall switch to the Timer Box....from what I am reading, would the 2001 Lumina series bed hook-up the same way to our RA-25's?
Thanks |
