i have them in the uwe tropical series bed and i like them. it is suppose to despense the lite more evenly, i think is the concept. just don't ever try polishing the frosted side. my partner tried that while i was away and it was a total mess. and you are not supose to anyway.

You can most likey get them from Suncorp Supply or IPF. They most likely will cost $35-$50 more per sheet.
Pros: Hides dust & hair, more even distribution of UV, looks cool Cons: Hides dust & hair, Can't see warning lable on lamp or lamp type (this is becoming a problem in regulated states, If the regulator comes in & wants to see the lamps, it will be a hassle) They also cost more. You can clean & polish the tops just like a regular acrylic. The back sides you do not want to use an acrylic polish on. It will actually remove the frost look. The frost you see is basically just a rough finish that can be polished out with a buffer. |

John,
Try holding an identical piece of clear vs frosted acrylic in front of a lamp test stand, and check total UV and UVB. I'd expect you would see a much bigger difference. When installed in a bed, the difference at body position might be less if diffusion effect makes up for transmission loss. Mitzi - PLEASE capitalize your i's (I). Sorry if I bother you Steve. I don't always use the cap key And being a former secretary, I know this is totally wrong but what the heck.

UWE introduced frosted acrylics in the USA when the Tropical Series came over from Germany about 5 years ago. Now some other companies are using them too. They will not block out anything worth mentioning and the benefits noted above are worth the added expense. It's a personal choice and I like them.
