Velocity is known as a bronzing lamp. It should not have been causing a RED look. If you want something in a real low %UVB, you might look to Philips. They have a large line of lamps all in the 2-3% UVB range. They may even have a lamp below 2%.

puretan S+ is the best bronzing lamp. If the lamp is compatable and your voltage is corerct (high voltage can cause burning) you will not find one that is more client pleasing. Don Smith of Arizona Testing Labs has ran several test on longevity and output.

If you want a lamp to brown without red try the philips swift or the goldarium.I think the beach sun, midday sun,and puretan will provide a more aggresive red tan. While I dont know if there are any left the old cosmolux AS and S lamps were great browning lamps.
