Got a new salon opening in Orlando, excellent location. 2 competitors not a problem.

Got a 3rd competitor that everyone goes to.(probably 170-200 people a day). Their beds are about 10 years old but they use Hi-Tan bulbs and have 20 min. tanning sessions. I am under the impression they are only 10 min bulbs. Is there a way they can be using for 20 minutes or are they doing something they are not supposed to be doing. Their beds are completely run down but you get quite a tan.

Believe it or not, there is one bed that comes equipped with an 8.5% uvb lamp & a 20 minute max session.

Megasun does this.

So if the Cosmedico Hi-Tan is compatible to the Megasun 8.5 it can be used.(I don't think they are compatible.)

Another way could be that the beds somehow got recertified for that lamp.
Kind of shady to have a Hi Tan in a 20 minute bed.

How is Megasun. Wouldnt use for upper end beds but their 32 bulb beds didnt seem all that bad for entry level, especially considering the price. The owner sure talked a mean game at Nashville. Any opinion on these beds?

Brand new 8.5 Cosmedico Hi-Tan lamps ran for 20 min. are dangerous lamps and will burn skin type 1 and 2 in 10 min...

These lamps are more of a salon owner friendly lamps then they are tanner friendly because they really only hit the outside layers of the skin, never really penetrating the epidermis so the tan fades quickly, never really resulting in a great tan.

.They show instant results so the tanner FEELS like they got a good tan but it fade's quickly so their back at your salon sooner for your employees to market again......

They seem to die out around 300-400 hrs so if their past that amount of hours then I can see them doing 20 min's but not before.....

Brand new Hi-Tans ran for 20 min.'s will loose you business, not gain...

Just my 2 cents....
