How often should face tanner lamps be changed. Do you change when you relamp bed or sooner?

Sunbum, Do not take this for gospel, but I think I read somewhere that the facials need changing more often than the tube lamps in the beds. Let me do a search and see if I can find more on this.

Depends on the lamp, depends on the bed... usually around 375-450 hours max. But this also depends on how long the salon keeps their regular lamps. IF they're dumb enough to believe the manufacturer, they keep them in until they just about burn out.

I've come to the thinking I should change all lamps at 400 hours. I want to be sure my clients get a good tan. What do you think.

Buy a meter and record the value when first installed. Change them out when they drop 30% from original value. Some lamps may get only 350 hours while others will last 500+, Don't waste lamp life, or $$$, needlessly.

I'm SURE that Don will be covering meters and the like in his talk on Sat.

Yes, you need to meter your lamps. I have and still do trash lamps that my competition would be wise to use casue they are still stronger than theirs, so I am told.
