Thanks Chris, but I have been planning on purchasing one anyway. I need to get the 5.0 to replace my 4.0 and after this little test I will also get a 7.0.
Steve didn't you say when using the old 4.0 to add like 11% to the readings? |

Mitzi, I am in the process of taking readings on a set of Philips Swift lamps as noted in another thread here. I am going to be comparing their performance to a set of LSI Auroua lamps. I think I'll use the numbers off this thread and a comparison over time as well. It will give folks another line of lamps to give consideration to when it comes time to re-lamp.
Mitzi, nice job getting the results that salons can "sink their teeth into"! 'Nice to know information', when buying lamps. I'm actually surprised by the difference in output decline at such low hours. Good work! Looks like Infinity is the lamp of choice between these two. Would like to see more data at about 500-600 hours though. By the way, did you ever mention what brand of bed you were testing these lamps in? I would be curious to know. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: bsmart on 2003-02-11 12:39 ] |

It measured 285-390nm, whereas 5.0 measures 280-400nm. Why is something I made 12 years ago still working? Geeeeze what an idiot I am... even cars have planned obsolete parts that go POOF after a certain number of years or miles! BTW... I have a GE clock radio from 1968 that still works perfect - alarm and everything. If it ever croaks I'll send it to Jack Welch with a big thankyou note for a wonderful design. |

Ha-ha... thanks. For 5.0's you can maybe get the best price from 4-Seasons, Tan America, ETS, or International Tan Makers - all of which ordered a ton recently.
For 6.0 and 7.0 try John at URI or Future or 4-Seasons. Hey - do you think the new ones will last another 12 years? he-he... I installed a self-destruct chip from Mission Impossible to activate after 500 button pushes or 5 years whichever comes first. Kidding. If you send me that 12 year old 4.0, I'll mail you a check for $50.... I like collector's items. Don't send it to the address on meter - see www.solarmeter.com contact page for correct address. |

That's okay that you installed a self-destruck chip.... I have a friend that will dis-engage it so I will get at least 15 yrs. out of the new ones.
I will think on the return of my antique..... I like old things too. |

Standby for a synopsis of this complete threads data. I'll try to post it soon. I did a cut and paste of all data and saw some interesting things to post. I'd like to post some graphs and such if its possible to do here.
Chunn, can that be done?? |
