I have a couple of older model ETS beds and the reflectors in them are very shiny ( like the shiny side of aluminum foil) when I cleaned the beds I alway figured the shinier the better. Well, I got 2 new Sunvision 28 LE beds and the reflectors are dull ( like the dull side of aluminum foil) I called ETS to see why they changed and they gave no information except that it really doesn't matter about the reflectors. Is this true? If not is there any way I can change the reflectors, or I saw a post about a Hex that used some sort of paper, could I use something like that? I know this is probably a dumb question but it has been bugging me and I need some answers. Thanks for any info.

I use reflector lamps so the reflectors under the lamps are useless. But it does make sense that they should be as shiny as possible.

Joe,

Do you have Sunvision or ETS beds? If so what lamps are you using? Are you in a regulated state? I am, and I think I have the best lamps I can legally use (Beach Sun).

The beach sun is a god lamp but should not be listed as compatable to the velocity. They are about 40% outside of compatability but are still listed as compatable.

Let me get this straight. Light Sources mislabels their lamps, sends along compatability sheets that are a lie, and puts the general tanning public and the salon onwers who tan them at financial risk. And Light Sources gets a free ride on this?

I dont know how they got the lamp listed as compatable, but we have found they range from 38 minutes to 45 minutes. The velocity ranges from 74 minutes to 80 minutes. You are only allowed 10% to be compatable. They must use the new math. Our tests were single lamp tests as required.
