I have one bed that I've changed out all the starters. This same bed is the only one that I keep having to replace starters in since I replaced them. Do you think I got a batch of bad starters or is it the bed causing the problem? [ This Message was edited by: chunn on 2002-04-06 01:42 ]

Is there a buck booster on that unit?
I'm not an expert or anything, just asking.

Ginger, Did you change the lamps in that bed recently to something you don't normally use? Is there a buck booster on the bed?

I do have a buck booster on all my beds. This particular bed (I have 2 others just like it) is the one that clients start complaining about that is not getting hot & they feel like they're getting cheated, although it will have less hours than the other beds that are just like it.

I'm in touch with Lampman & I look forward to hearing from him. I appreciate any & all advice you can offer. What would I do without everyone at TanTalk!!!

Okay, what's the deal with the buck booster? Do they cause problems? I've got them on all my beds.

Thanks!

Buck Boosters are nesessary on choke systems if your voltage is over 240 or under 220. Tell your customers that heat in the tanning bed is BAD!!! It affects the overall output of the lamp. As a lamp reaches its operating temp. the output rises to full output. Once the temp. comtinues to rise the output will begin to decrease and lamp life will suffer along with the overall tanning result. You are tanning with light, not baking with heat. Heat has absolutely nothing to do with the tanning process.
