starters either work or they do not. I have talked to several certified electricians about these things. So I dont see the reasoning for moving these things around. I just change all of them when we relamp our equipment. We have had some come in bad from the factory and also have had bulbs that dont work. That is the only time I change staters around tring to figure out what is the problem. Patience is not my virtue.

The job of the starter is to start the lamp. Once the lamp has started the starter serves no purpose and can be removed from the circuit altogether. There is no benifit in moving starters from one position to another. They have no bearing on the performance of the unit.

Okay, tell me this... I have had a problem a few times with the lamps not starting, when I go to take the starter out the lamp will start. Put it back end and turn the bed on again, same thing happens. Is it the starter or another problem?

The socket the starter attachs in may be getting worn or tarnished not getting a good connection. Something to check maybe needs replacing.

Were have you been?
How long you been in business?
Our all tanning booths salon is 20 years old this spring!
If we had beds we would have folded years ago like the 30-40 tanning bed salons in this city that have folded over the last 20 years!
Booths are better!
Eveyone knows it now!

That is a bad starter. The contact is stuck in the closed position. When you remove the starter it opens the conection and the lamp lights.

Thank you for the compliment!!
I've been in business 7 years... well
I guess if I'm living in the dark ages than 95% of all the users of this board are also, and if my clients are too, than I guess America is.
I just might trade all of my tanning beds one day and opt for vertical Tanning!! (Boy won't my existing clients be surprised!) If it works, cool...If not than I just dabble in some other business since money grows on pecan trees here in Texas![ This Message was edited by: viptanner on 2002-02-20 21:40 ]
