Don,
What if I use the Hereaus 160 for the booth? Yes, my 8 minute is a Tanses 44. I have the Hereaus 23/160VHR lamp & I don't see staying in it any longer than 8 minutes. Are you saying I need to make it a longer tan time? Thanks for your help! Ginger |

Don,
It would sure be nice if the FDA makes its collective mind up 2-7/8 on what EAS & MED definition they want to change to (if any). Then a valid question like the above can be easily answered by sticking a hand-held MED/hr meter in a defined location at a pre-determined warm up time. Even if they procrastinate, readings can be adjusted by your cal-factor to arrive at a valid conclusion, I assume. |

Don,
(1) Should I make my Tanses 44 with 23/160 VHR Hereaus lamps a longer tan time than 8 minutes? If so, how long should people tan in it? (2) I was hoping to shorten the time in my Sundazzler, but if that's not a good idea which lamp would be the best? I know you're busy, but I need to order right away & if I need to make my T-44 a longer tan time I want to do it before I get any busier. Thanks! |

Ginger:
(2) Using the Cosmedico VHR-TT's in your Sun Dazzler would require, IMHO, shortening the maximum time from 11 minutes to 10 minutes and 8 minutes will be more than enough for most people. (1) We have not tested the Tanses sunbeds. However, I wonder if the 8 minute time is based upon (1) the te (time to 4.0 MED) time, or, (2) a desire for marketing reasons to have a shorter time. Salon owners who have the 52 lamp unit tell me that it takes 11-12 minutes to get a good tan and that would indicate (to me at least) that the 8 minute time is marketing driven. The "bottom line" is that since the manufacturer (Tanses) "claims" a MTI (maximum timer interval) of 8 minutes, you are stuck with that time. When in doubt - go with the sunlamp recommended by the sunbed manufacturer! Hope this helps. Don |
