Hey Don and good day to you.I talked with you a couple of weeks ago about my lamps. 1st meter was 21% yesterday they metered 18%. 5%uvb lamps in my Tan America bed. I have 469 hrs on them and keep our salon about 68-70 degrees.Only about 3or4 people have asked us when we change our lamps but my concern is the "talk"and how to stop it before it gets throughout the city "a small town"The people that are saying they aren't as dark as they were last month have quit coming as frequently and seem to think it is our lamps. How do I justify to them it is not the lamps. We tan customers on these lamps for 20 minutes. What do I do Don, what do I do.I have the lamps in stock to replace all my beds but I don't want to just throw away money but also don't want a bad reputation.Do you ever have these customers???Thanks a million in advance,Tommy------------------Tommy Lowery

Ok I know I'm not Don but I had a few observations. I'm not real familiar with the Tan America lamps but aren't the 5.0's a 30 minute lamp? The output is not that far off and 400 and some odd hours is not really when I would want to be changing my lamps. My other question is do you change the lamps in all your beds at once? Some of my beds are used more than others so the hours are different and I change them at different intervals so I'm able to adjust exposure times accordingly. you will allways have people who don't think the are as dark as they used to be. Do you use upgrade equipment? If not that would certainly be an oppurtunity to upgrade some people. My other suggestion would be to see if there are other lamps that would be a compatible alternative

Thanks Jeff,I am using the Helios 9 and it keeps all my lamp hrs balanced. There is probably only 20 minutes difference in any of my lamps. Thanks for the help. I have 4 upgrades and wouldn't know it the people that are asking about the lamps (all but 1) aren't using the upgrades. ------------------Tommy Lowery

Then your problem isn't lamps it's cheap people. I've noticed the ones who complain are the same ones that won't buy lotion and refuse to pay more than $6 a tan. I try and explain that they do have a good tan but if they want more they may have to pay more. You get what you pay for.

I keep track of hrs and meter my puretan beds but if 3 or more people complain...the bulbs i be changin

Once people are well tanned they have a fear that they are fading its a normal response you will find.Most people want to be good and dark, and are worried about the tan going away.Don't worry about this. If your lamps are changed at the right times. You have done all you can.You will hear "this place tanned me more or that place tanned me less".Its all part of the nature of the business.You can even hear people say that one of your machines tan better then the other even when the machines are the same model, same age, same lamps, and same lamp hours. It just the way things go.

The uvb % does not deside the max session lenght alone. The number of lamps play a role as well.You could have a 30 or a 20 session with 5% lampdepending on the number of lamps in your bed.
