I wanted to get everyone's opinion on Sonnenbraune. I won't name any names, but I've received a couple of e-mails asking me about this equipment. Other people have bashed this equipment in the past. Although I understand that some of these comments are really geared towards distributors and not the actual equipment.I personally have the sonnenbraune klassic 732/3 and a pryzma 1048/4. I love this equipment. It is fairly easy to maintain. And, at least for me, it's a workhorse. Does anyone else have sonnenbraune? If so, what has been your experiences with it?

Tangirl,I have Sonnenbraune 732/3 & 732 (w/o facials) & my clients love them. I've only been opened for 15 months so I don't know long term, but they are very nice beds & easy to get to parts & getting the acrylic off.

The place that I used to tan had sonnenbraune beds, they tanned well and are comfortable. Now there is a new owner who has put cheap lamps in and ruined the beds reputation in this town. Which is why we decided to open a salon. But we had to go with different equipment. So that we wouldn't be classified in the category.

I have heard disturbing things about Sonnenbraune recently. Not sure if it's true and don't have any proof other than hearsay. But what I heard was while their reputation for putting out wonderful long lasting equipment didn't allow them for any follow up or maintenance work, thus costing them. So they started in recent years cutting corners therefore making it necessary for more replacement parts, maintenance and limited life of the equipment. Lifespan went from 15 years to five.
Again, only what I've heard... have no real proof. |

We have 6 Sonenbraune beds and are extremely happy with them. The only thing we have had a problem with is the plastic molding caps at the ends of the beds, apparently they we made with plastic that wasn't UV stable! But they are replacing them for FREE!

Cabanagirl - We had the same problem. Go to Home Depot. Get a can of MEK and a spray bottle. Take the end caps off. Take them outside. Put the MEK in the spray bottle and spray it on the end cap. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and then use a towel to scrub. Takes a little elbow grease and lots of ventilation. Works very well.
